    Quite an interesting show
Well I'll first say that I was looking forward to this anime when I first found out about it. I do like military shows quite a bit. It's also set in a world where a war (definitely not World War I) between an empire (definitely not Germany) is fighting against a group of allies (definitely not France, Russia, etc.). This only furthered my interest in the show. I did hear certain summaries of the ...

They screwed it up real bad (maybe)
They started in the middle of the f***ing manga so if you haven't read it you wont understand one third of whats happening. You also wont understand any of the reasons for the individual characters motivations, why anything is happening in this anime, without reading the manga! They also screwed up how the characters look. But i do like the voice acting.

    Update:
OK so I've watched the second ...

    "Good for episode 1"
Tanya is a very basic character, but a very likable one she brings some intense devilish behavior and I can’t wait to see what more she can do. As for the other characters, you mostly overlook all the generals and high commanders as they are just old boring guys in a room far away from all events of interest and I don’t think you're even supposed to care about them. I think people looking for ...

    War buffs will love it
So I went into this without knowing anything about it. All you need to know is it takes place during in an alternate world where world war 1 either started or lasted longer and mages are used in battle. If you liked Izetta I think you will like this as well. Another reviewer stated this starts in the middle of the manga but I had no problems picking up what was going on. Also Tanya is a ...

Saga of Tanya the Evil Chibi
(completely amended the review due to episode 2)

I am a firm believer that in most cases you can decide if an anime is right for you after the first episode. There are some obvious exceptions to this rule, however, for the most part, one to two episodes is all you need to see the opening material, initial setup and where the writers plan to take things.

During the first episode of this ...

Evil magical girl in a war
An evil magic loli in a parallel universe's WWI, a senior officer at HQ with a ridiculous hairstyle that would not be regulation in any armed force anywhere at any time and the ugliness of trench warfare. There is so much here that I don't like, and so much that is just implausible. I do not like this one.

No clear good guys vs, bad guys in WWI, nonehtless Tanya is called evil
This anime occupies the same genre as Izetta: The Last Witch, but with some notable changes. Tanya is fighting for the "Germans" in "WW I", and she is "evil". The flow of the combat is somewhat different in that there are a number of "mages" involved. and instead of a pretty grown witch, Tanya is an ugly little girl. In some ways, this is a braver reinterpretation of history than Isetta was, ...

A quite good and interesting show.
Although untill now the quality of the sound isn't so good the show is still very enjoyable. The graphics and the details on each character are very good. What also,is good, about this show is that it shows a type of -dere that is not shown much in anime. The fact that it takes place in 1923 is quite interesting too.The realationship between each character and how it (propably) evolves is also a good ...

Alternate WW1? Going to be different to ours?
I have read things on this anime as it is set during an alternate WW1 compared to ours setting in early 1920's.
I have not read all of the short stories but I do have a strong feeling that the Central powers are going to lose the war no matter how hard Tanya tries. Tayna's fate is yet unknown either she is going to survive the war with alt-Germany surrendering or dying during the last days of ...
