    Don't be fooled by appearances.
I know what you are thinking; "Oh, it's another brainless slice-of-life show with no plot, pointless fan service, two dimensional characters that are knockoffs of characters from other SOL anime, and tons of Yuribait that is never followed up on!"
It could not be less any of those things.
Sakura Quest is about five women and a town, all of which have hit dead-ends in life. Devoid of hope, they ...

    The show is GREAT!!!
So far so good. You have old people who are actually old looking. You know where they look like they're in their 20s but are supposed to be 50+ years old. The interaction between them works well.

So far the MC is relatable. Were not in elementary school age here and no one has tripped and grabbed anyones boobs yet. Thank God for the temporary reprieve. Even if it's only 1 episode in I ...

Feels like I should like it more.
I feel like I should love this anime but just can't seem to get absorbed by it. It has beautiful artwork and lovely voice acting and the premise of the show is adorable. I feel like I might need to be in a different kind of mood to fully enjoy the anime for what it deserves. I shall test that one when I am going through a better time and will comment.

It's not where you live it's the people with whom you live.
Yosho Koharu can't find a job in the city of Tokyo she gets an, an accidental offer of being temporary Queen in a small rural town of Monoyama where she had actually worked as a child in the same position. She finds the people of the town to be uninterested in the future of the town, believing that it has no potential. She falls in love with the town and 4 close friends she meets there...and ...

    Grounded and Relatable
I am really enjoying Sakura Quest. It has a cast of characters trying to find a place in the world in spite of things just not turning out as expected. This show is so much more grounded than most anime and I really like the tone it sets.

Every character seems fully realized, even the side characters. Our main cast all seem to have trajectories that make sense and a clear setup for ...

    Simple yet relatable
Country girl that goes to the big city to study. Graduates and is unemployable due to her pickiness. Gets an offer that she becomes Queen for a certain town, didn't realize the contract she signed was A year worth of work. This is not your typical Slice of Life.

The Characters in Sakura Quest are all quite lovable despite their differences. They all have a specific skill and they compliment one ...

    PA Works does it again
Like with Shirobako, PA Works hits all the right notes with believable, fun, fully realized characters to hilarious skits and moments of real drama and emotion. Well worth your time. And if you haven't checked out Shirobako, I highly recommend it as well.

    Really good so far!!
I'm usually wary of anime with primarily female main charaters, as they're often just fan service, but this is not that! The first two episodes of Sakura Quest have been really good, wholesome, slice-of-life type anime. I think if you enjoyed Barakamon, you'll definitely enjoy this!

The 5 main characters are all distinct and believable, really well written. I'm glad I gave this ...

Loved it - sweet and funny - looks like a keeper
Very sweet and made me laugh out loud.

Nice animation, rich colours and good perspective, "I loved the detail in the town"
The dynamic between the older residents was nicely handled and should make for fine comedy in future episodes.

I have high hopes and recommend you give it a try ;-)

The Most Heartfelt Way to Show a Boring Topic
Sakura Quest, from the same studio and in the same Working Girls series as Shirobako, is about the tourism board in a small country town named Manoyama. While most of the series is essentially politics, it's all portrayed in a more emotional and human way, something that is exceptionally difficult to do, but is executed perfectly here. As the series progresses, there's more attachment and ...
