A classic that shaped a generation
Samurai Champloo was one of those shows that shaped a generation of anime watchers in America in the mid-2000s. I was one of them. The amount of anime we had access to back then was exponentially smaller than it is today, so when we were introduced to Champloo, it blew our minds.

Great art and animation, memorable characters, fun adventures, and an incredible soundtrack. the soundtrack mixed ...

  • One of the best fighting/ Character influenced shows around
Title says it all, Give this a watch its one of the best around. Original, Amazing characters, animation and music.
The opening sequence of music is always catchy, instead of some high pitch screaming.
The show itself is a true classic and I wish there was a sequel but perhaps thats what makes this so tasteful.
Give this a watch, you will love it.

  • My god what an anime
It's one of the best anime I've ever watched definitely on my top 10 list. It has Good story/plot line, Good characters, Good character development, Amazing soundtrack (its like cowboy bebop,hip-hop, rap, electronic music all mixed together perfectly), and a Good ending :(. Would recommend to watch. I'd give it a solid 8.5 or 9 elephants / 10 hamsters. you can do the math

    P.S. R.I.P Nujabes

  • Mostly style over substance but the style is amazing
One of my favorite anime of all time. The style, music, action, and setting is a perfect blend of modern and classic. While it's a blast to watch, it does not have a great plot, as it's story is simply about three strangers banding together to travel across ancient Japan for their own motives which get fleshed out slowly as you go. The ride is worth it, though, as it's funny, touching (when it ...

  • My Number 9 of my Top 10 anime
Samurai Champloo is a well-choreographed anime that incorporates hip-hop into the old Japan period. Every episode was either funny or gave a backstory into a characters life and made the connection with them stronger. I would recommend if you like swords or fighting.

  • A Show to Be Savored, Not Binged
If I rated this show based on how I watched it, it would be a 4/5. The first 12 episodes of this show should be watched in batches of three, not binged all at once. That way, it doesn't feel like you're "slogging" through the first half of it when the plot doesn't develop as quickly as other shows. Episodes 11, 13, and 14 are very strong character development episodes, and it increasingly gets ...

  • A Underrated Anime that you need to watch right NOW!
The sound track is great, and the anime is just laid back and chill. The fighting is awesome, and I love how different the story is every single episode. All i want is for mugen to finally get his nut tho lmao. This anime is so fun to watch that it is easily binge watched, so go ahead and watch this.

Great anime, good art style, catchy music
Second time I've watched it, and still really enjoyable. I love the art style and music. Sometimes the characters are really naive and get themselves into hilarious and dangerous situations, but in the end it's a great anime and I would recommend it.

  • This is the definition of a perfect anime
Samurai Champloo is even used in a textbook at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. It is fundamentally what an anime should look like. One of the very few shows that when watching, I never skip over the intro music; I've even downloaded the soundtrack.
If you've never seen an anime and you read this comment, let this be the first thing you watch!

  • Brilliant Anime! Must See
Definitely a great anime, I saw this when it was new. I really enjoyed the adventures they all went through and of course the hip-hop touch I thought really made it much better. I also thought Mugen and Jin to be a perfect match, one a by the book Samurai and the other an unorthodox fighter.
