Loved it far more in the beginning
I was actually at an anime club when I first saw Samurai Flamenco. The name turned me off to the show, but after watching the first episode I was hooked. The first six episodes were very relatable as the main character finds his path as a hero in the "regular" world. However from episode seven on, the show takes a supernatural turn with monsters, aliens, and probably more as the show goes on. ...

Samurai Flamenco has a Promising start
The animation quality is top-notch, the character designs are flawless and the dialogues are natural flowing.
Episode 1 was very enjoyable for me, this anime has a promising start; the first episode set an overall tone; "If you want to accomplish something, you have to get out there and do it" sort of message and tackled some social issues such as the issue of high school delinquents.

Happy to obnoxiously pissed off in 7 episodes
Had all the workings; good characters and their backgrounds, interesting plot, etc. Six episodes in and I was thinking, "hey, this is pretty darn good." Well after those six episodes, I wanted to find the creator and break my keyboard over their head. Went from normal to wtf in seconds. Extremely disappointing anime.

One of My New Faves of All Time
Starting this series, I was absolutely doubtful about whether or not I could grow to like this. The animation wasn't particularly note-worthy... and the main character just seemed so idiotic.

As I watched more and more... well... let's just say that this is one of the strangest, moronic and WTF-ing show I have ever watched. And I effing loved it.

This show had so many plot twists ...

An anime with a funny but also sad story
Masayoshi really made me think. "Holy crap! What is he DOING!?" but then he becomes this REAL hero. FILLED WITH PLOTTWIST.
Goto-san is this policeman who is the first to meet Masayoshi as his real self. They show this friendly love for each other. Not gay but just really care for each other!
Then these irritating girls inter the series. Making Yuri and so on. :P
Even so I give the series 5 ...

    Most disappointing anime of 2013
Wow... How something that started that good could become such a surreal mess?

Samurai Flamenco begins as some sort of Super Sentai Kick-Ass. The show has a lot of interesting and funny situations and some seriously captivating characters.

Then we have the plot twist... Wow... I won´t say anything rather than: The show just goes bananas - not in a good way.

Seriously, you can do something ...

    Great characters, but moronic story
I find myself sad when I think about what this anime could've been. I loved the idea of a hero with no real supervillains to fight and thus had to make due with petty crimes. I liked the idea of him "leveling up" and maybe taking on crime syndicates or something, then the guillotine gorilla showed up. They took all the good drama, conflicts, and characters and just ruined it by having them fight ...

Get ready. This will not be a normal ride.
Samurai Flamenco's writers are probably on Crack. In the first few episodes, this does not seem the case, towards the middle and defiantly at the end does it seem like the Writers are on drugs. It starts out with the premise of a young model, Hazama Masayoshi, who wants to be a super hero like the one from his youth of Super Sentai shows. And thus, he makes himself a super hero costume, and ...

    What did I just watch?
If you want to watch a crime series, then this might be up your alley. However, don't come in thinking it will be like Psycho Pass. Yes, this show is serious as far as violence goes and takes its themes quite seriously. Yet, in a sense, this title doesn't take its story seriously at all. Be prepared and willing to have plot twists at the end, middle, and beginning of any (and sometimes ...

  • Some Good Tropic Fun
As with many works, the basic plot is not very original. That said, the use of hero tropes was very well played, leading from a relatively serious topic of real-world heroism to an absurd world of crazy monsters. It reminded me of games I used to play as a child, where I would give myself a superpower, but then think of something strong enough to use it against. This kind of thinking leads to ...
