What is this show? I don't know anymore
Ever see an anime that leaves you going "what the s*** did I just see?". That's Samurai Flamenco. It is essentially a love letter to the transforming superheroes that make up Japanese lore, but it goes about it in the strangest way possible. First you think it's going to be a sad joke at the expense of the fans... then it becomes a real world take on it... then it starts taking the genre dead ...

Loved it far more in the beginning
I was actually at an anime club when I first saw Samurai Flamenco. The name turned me off to the show, but after watching the first episode I was hooked. The first six episodes were very relatable as the main character finds his path as a hero in the "regular" world. However from episode seven on, the show takes a supernatural turn with monsters, aliens, and probably more as the show goes on. ...

Samurai Flamenco has a Promising start
The animation quality is top-notch, the character designs are flawless and the dialogues are natural flowing.
Episode 1 was very enjoyable for me, this anime has a promising start; the first episode set an overall tone; "If you want to accomplish something, you have to get out there and do it" sort of message and tackled some social issues such as the issue of high school delinquents.

Perhaps this series should've ended faster.
First, I really enjoyed it. Basically the anime version of Kick-ass, but better in my opinion. Then, it escalated quickly and became power rangers. Perhaps this is the reason why many anime series end at 12 episodes. If this series ended sooner, it would've been a lot better. This series showed me, "Although I want to see more, there is a reason to end things."

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Mind=Blown while watching this anime, note that this comment was created during "the flip". I thought I knew where this anime was going, nope. Complete 180, no idea what to say, I dont want to give too much away, but seriously this anime blew my mind.
Filled with action, I feel like they might have hinted towards some more drama/romance episodes in the future, and has little comedy. This anime ...

Whatever happens beyond episode 7; wait until the end and you will understand why it all happens.
Most people seem to be upset at how pseudo-realistic the show is up until episode 7. If you watch until the very end of the series, everything is explained. I had a big, "Ooooh" moment when it was explained why all this phenomena was happening and then it all made sense.

There is a heap ton of character development in this series. It never really had a dull moment for me. I'd rate this show a ...

Step 1: Make the story realistic; Step 2: Dash it all!!!
I'm not really saying anything different than what the other reviewers have said, but I would like to throw in my two cents worth.

From episodes 1-7, everything seems to be aiming towards an inspiring story of how an ordinary guy develops his reputation as a modern day real life superhero. After episode 7... things take a sharp 180 turn... then a 90, then another 180, then a 20, etc.

    BUT, ...

Great, solid series up to episode 7, then goes crazy in a very bad way
    WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

I really loved the first 7 episodes. Honestly. Masayoshi's good, honest intentions with his powerlessness and desire for justice made a very enjoyable piece to watch, and it was fairly believable how he gradually became better and honestly began making a difference in his society. I loved his reckless, wacky interaction with the serious-minded and more realistic Goto, ...

    Why isn't this more popular?
All you need to know is that this is pretty much an Anime version of Kickass and is drawn very well. The same premise is there--a young man, Masayoshi Hazama, decides to live his dream of being a superhero, and struggles with the reality of the situation.

What makes this show different is that our hero Hazama is accompanied by an ensemble cast cast of colorful characters following their ...

    Based on first three episodes
This is a fantastic anime. It's funny, clever, and even moving at times. I eagerly anticipate each episode and wonder what will happen. The characters are all interesting and not one-dimensional. I highly recommend this anime so far.
