Summary
Mother, Sister, Daughter tells the story of half-sisters competing for the love of men.

Emilia seeks the love that her father shows to the more favored daughter, Pura who is after the attention of a man seduced by Emilia into marriage to spite her. Both women cannot admit their inability to control the love of the men they long for.

Their bitter rivalry escalates; and despite their other accomplishments, they focus on the very frustrations they seem to unable to live without.

As a consequence, they grow cold and distant with one another, making their lives even more miserable.

Mother, Sister, Daughter is a classic study of Filipino acting. It features two actresses employing two completely contrasting styles of developing the characters they portray.
