Synopsis
The story of Saiunkoku Monogatari takes place in the fictional empire of Saiunkoku. It follows the life of Shūrei Kō who is a descendant of the Kō clan, one of the two most powerful clans in the empire. The second season continues the chronicles of the trials Shūrei must face as a rising female official in a male dominated society.

actually GravitationGirl, Funimation announced that they are picking up Saiunkoku and that the volume 3 will be released this October :)

Uh... sorry guys, if you weren't already aware of this... but Geneon closed down and took all its licences with it, so we won't get anymore dubbed Saiunkoku until someone else picks up the licence for it. Geneon only completed volume 1!

I LOVE Saiunkoku Monogatari 2 to get licensed and it will. Can't only license season one only without the other seasons. That's just dump. Although, while waiting......put more episodes on!!! It has finished in Japan SEVEN MONTHS ago!!!

Anime wouldn't be made if there wasn't profit in it. The people who make these have to eat and pay rent. Go watch some homemade stuff on YouTube and tell me if it's better. I'm happy when something gets licensed. DVDs look and sound better.
