I've tried looking through the index thread but I just don't have the patience to do a line by line check, this can be locked if there is a relevant thread already going (please post link before locking).

Basically, I'm looking for reputable online stores where I can purchase DVD's of several animes I'm interested in, I've seen several mentioned in the past but I cannot remember what they are called. I prefer japanese stores if possible due to the basic fact they get the DVD's released first and are normally months ahead of the rest of the World.

Its also a no brainer that it'll be cheaper to order direct then through an importer.

Animenation isn't what I want as it's based in America and I don't want to have to pay extra to an importer when I can do it direct myself and I don't like Amazon.

I don't trust buying DVD's from people on eBay as you never know if they are pirated or not and Sphiatt is also American it seems plus it doesn't seem to do overseas deliveries anymore.

I've done the whole google thing but I was kind of hoping that some CR members would be able to recommend some reliable sites as I'm looking into buying the *actual* japanese DVD's and not the international versions released by Viz.

Damn, can someone tell me of a legit site where I can buy anime? I am trying to buy the boxset of Midori no Hibi - just watched it on veoh and youtube, and I want it on DVD.

animenation sucks, really high prices and on twice they were slow as hell on my shipping, they gave me back the shipping costs but was pretty gay waiting over a month for my shipment

Best Buy is the cheapest place to buy anime. You normally would spend $40 for a DVD+ artbox, but at Best Buy your looking at $25. The selection is surprisingly big IF you are looking to buy online.

I recommend these two if your looking for OFFICIAL releases. A lot of the time, really cheap prices mean they're FX releases or HK video, which are fake.
