Well it was 2 years later so I guess Luke might have grown his hair out. I did notice that his hair was darker. Maybe because it was night time or whatever or maybe they really did become one person.

Yes. As you may have noticed thought out the series, They stated numerous times that the original would eventually die, and the replica's soul would replace it inside that body. That's why Luke's hair was darker, and longer.

Guess they're going all the way with this tales anime, unlike tales of symphonia where you had to buy the game to find out what happend becuase they didn't do the entire game as an anime
