Hey Folks ... Im heading of to Tokyo in the next few weeks to meet up with my friend Vince from Crunchy Roll and the folks at CoMix Wave. More info on the 2010 Global Shinkai Day coming soon
love his work esp. the place promised in our early days and my fav. 5 cm per second. it's was very beautiful and sad. it depicted reality of relationships in a way.
in 5 cm Per second don't you think they were talking a bit fast? Its like the moment one character finishes saying something another one immediately starts saying something. Absolutely instant reaction time.
*spoiler* i got confused in "the place promised in our early days." why didn't they destroy the tower earlier? why was it so important that they kept studying it and keeping her in a sleep?
watched 5 centimeter per second a while ago and watched the other two last night and today, really liked all three. all were really sad and really had you thinking. definately should watch all 3
1st while watchin Voices of a Distant Star,i wasnt 2 into it.but as it progressed i appreciated its strange uniquenesses.the story very nice and lovely way of depicting the story's messages.the animation style was bit weird, still good.3.5/5
Awesome, one of the greatest directors I have ever come across, I had the pleasure of meeting him last summer. His genius astounds bot on and off screen
whts wiff the writer ...i admit the stories r waay awesome tho they all have a sad ending gives u this Bittersweet feeling =/ tho i still loved it...idk yy >_>... My fave was 5 centimeters per second it was very touching =] <3~
WOW i just went here from the link at the top of the pg...and when i was reading the description, i didnt know who it was. then i realised i own one of the books xD
i actualy liked Place Promised in our early days the best then come 5 centimeter per second ,,,,,,Voices of a distant start suck i hate i dont know why but i hated it....
Shinkai Day was great cuz we all got to watch these films that are so moving. Two of them have futuristic ideas/technology but they're all beautiful in terms of animation and story
Yeah it is expensive, i think i mentioned before in the chat above that rightstuf had a compilation of all his works in one set not to long ago for about $60 or more, i'm looking on the site but no luck?
Really loved all of these films, especially 5 Centimeters Per Second. I noticed that the what all of these fims share is a kinda sad story and some kind of song at the end. And also with beautiful scenery, though 5 Centimeters Per Second
