Powerful enough youkai can take on human form, like Nyanko-sensei's girl form and the Master of the Forest who could could take the form of a young boy.
princessmei jtlangel: Maybe he's a special youkai, like that fox girl that came out as a fox. If they are somewhat there to humans but in another form they might show their true form to Taki, a person with a amount of spiritual power.
