Thanks. I'm rereading your points as well as their arguements and I get where you're coming from. It's good to have a more neutral third-party to consult with. Thanks again!
I'm not good at explaining, but reasoning behind it would be something like, "Fiction is the hypothetical reality" so having feelings for what happens in fiction would emulate how a person would react if that scenario happened in reality.
Ok, enough about my side. I wanted to know what you think. So the questions are: Can people have certain feelings toward a fictional character? and Do characters exhibit humanlike qualities and human nature?
and choose which characters they like, which characters they hate... etc etc. I even went as far to say that people can and do have feelings for characters because some fans even comment about physical qualities about characters (con't)...
and the other side brings up that it's not possible to have feelings for characters in fiction because they don't have feelings. My argument is that characters do have, although fabricated, feelings, which allows people to pick (con't)...
about whether or not it's possible for people to have feelings for fictional characters (like, hate, annoyance, etc.) I took the side of saying yes, that it's possible to have an affinity or dislike a character from fiction (con't)
The discussion originally started in the "Rolo Must Die?" forum thread in case you want to take a look, but it all ends in meaningless mudslinging in the end. Essentially what happens is that the other person and I were debating (con't)...
Hi. I don't know when you'll be reading this since I don't know what time zone you're in (shame on me) but I'd like your opinion on something I'm arguing about (lol surprise). Anyways, if you're interested, give me a response. Thanks.
