  • Great Slice of life show
This is a stand out show that should not be missed. It's got humor and character growth. It's not an action show which is what I normally go for but I'm glad I went outside my box. The creator of Fullmetal Alchemist did a complete 180 and created a realistic teenager who improves with every episode. I loved all the characters and hope to see many more seasons.

    A Masterpiece of Epic Proprotions
There are an endless amount of slice of life anime that are cast aside or disregarded because of their lack of appeal to the majority of those watching anime. I'll say this once, you'd be doing yourself a major injustice by passing this anime up.

Silver Spoon revolves around Yugo Hachiken, Hachiken enrolls in an agricultural school with the intentions of "running" away from his harsh father ...

I laughed, I cried, I watched life happen.
Silver Spoon is a very realistic anime focusing on real life struggles and joys. You will not find a dumbfounded hero with a harem here. Just a kid who does not know what to do with his life, and his friends who have their own lives. If I could choose one anime to watch from the season this aired, it would be Silver Spoon.

It was refreshing to watch such a high quality and well-written anime, ...

    Dark Horse Masterpiece
Silver Spoon was not the show I expected to be. I approached it thinking it would be a quaint slice of life fish out of water story. Never before have I been so happy to be so wrong. The story of Hachiken and his agricultural high school classmates is the story of people, real people, struggling through real life problems that are not even necessarily limited to farm life. It is at times ...

    What An Unexpectedly Great Anime
Two days ago, I was looking for an anime to fill in the gap until Nagi no Asukrara, Golden Time, and Nisekoi rolled along. Unfortunately, this anime captivated me to the point where I unconsciously did a marathon through all 21 episodes. Before I knew it, I was back to step one in searching for an anime to fill in the gaps.

Needless to say, Silver Spoon has quickly become one of my top ten ...

If you like harvest moon you will like this
Sure its about modern farming and what goes with it but the feeling of hard work and growth as well as social aspects have the same feel. I get a good feeling after watching this anime unlike all the depressing hack n slash and overly sexualized animes this one is a is a nice breath of fresh air I approve!

  • Midwestern Lifestyle in Anime Form
This is a hard anime to review simply because when you try to describe it, it sounds boring beyond all reason. HOWEVER. that is not the case! Silver Spoon is addicting, fun, informative and intuitive. This is an anime you need to go in to with open eyes and no judgments. If you can do that, you'll have yourself a new anime that you will love (go Hachiken!)

  • A great series for fans of the Slice of Life genre
Taking the familiar urban school setting and recontextualizing it in terms of an agricultural school makes the difference for this charming little series. In a post-industrial world where most people are far removed in time and perhaps even in location from the agricultural foundations of their society, I must applaud any series that presents farm life in an easily digestible way.

    The series ...

  • laugh out loud funny
This anime is outstanding in every way. Great characters, and so funny. Totally worth watching. Lots to learn about agricultural fields and human dynamics, as well as heart-warming friends and lessons learned. Highly recommended and worth the time.
