This is how "slice of life" should be.
Silver Spoon is perfect. Of all the Anime in my queue this I looked forward to the most. When season 1 ended, I hoped they'd continue, and sure enough they did. The only downside to this show is it is so short. I look at it this way, imagine if you could just pop into someone's life and just observe them, that is how I felt about this show. We pop into a segment in Hachiken's life and observe how ...

  • This was really wholesome. Yeah, I said wholesome!
This anime was one that I wasn't sure I would like; then I watched the first episode and didn't stop until I was eagerly awaiting each new episode every week. It was full of cool stuff and legit facts! That alone made it worth watching, but then you have Hachiken himself. This guy is a hopeless yes man and a total city slicker, but he doesn't let that stop him from getting his hands dirty (often ...

    Arakawa doesn't dissapoint!
I found this surprising later finding out this was done by the same mangaka as Fullmetal Alchemist, which is one of the biggest anime classics of the 21st century thus far. Silver Spoon has all of the same heart, drama, action, and humor that FMA had. All the characters are rememberable and inspirational, the dialogue is insightful and hilarious at the right points, and you learn so much about ...

  • Great anime-needs a season 3 asap!!!
Pretty amazing and educational as well! I loved how the characters developed and how the story was somewhat like a teaching tool about agriculture and livestock but not boring. I learned a lot from the anime and at the same time enjoyed every minute of it. I hope that season 3 is already in the making. 2 thumbs up on top of the 5 stars for Silver Spoon!!!

    So Sad It's Over......
    Premise:
Hachiken-kun is a 1st year high school student that simply wanted to find a school that had dorms, because he wanted to run away from his problems. He finds what he's looking for at an agricultural high school, which would not seem to be a fitting match for this bookworm. However, here, through hard work and friendship (and a crush), he'll fill in the empty areas of his heart and ...

  • Silver Spoon- A review.
Silver Spoon, an anime that was released with two season, that is essentially city-boy meets farm life. The characters are easily enjoyable, and the plot is wonderful. I really wish that the main character Hachiken and Mikage would get closer in a romantic sense, something many fellow fans might agree with. Other than that, I'd say that Silver Spoon is a 5/5 star anime definitely worth watching. ...

  • Great Slice of life show
This is a stand out show that should not be missed. It's got humor and character growth. It's not an action show which is what I normally go for but I'm glad I went outside my box. The creator of Fullmetal Alchemist did a complete 180 and created a realistic teenager who improves with every episode. I loved all the characters and hope to see many more seasons.

    A Masterpiece of Epic Proprotions
There are an endless amount of slice of life anime that are cast aside or disregarded because of their lack of appeal to the majority of those watching anime. I'll say this once, you'd be doing yourself a major injustice by passing this anime up.

Silver Spoon revolves around Yugo Hachiken, Hachiken enrolls in an agricultural school with the intentions of "running" away from his harsh father ...

I laughed, I cried, I watched life happen.
Silver Spoon is a very realistic anime focusing on real life struggles and joys. You will not find a dumbfounded hero with a harem here. Just a kid who does not know what to do with his life, and his friends who have their own lives. If I could choose one anime to watch from the season this aired, it would be Silver Spoon.

It was refreshing to watch such a high quality and well-written anime, ...

    Dark Horse Masterpiece
Silver Spoon was not the show I expected to be. I approached it thinking it would be a quaint slice of life fish out of water story. Never before have I been so happy to be so wrong. The story of Hachiken and his agricultural high school classmates is the story of people, real people, struggling through real life problems that are not even necessarily limited to farm life. It is at times ...
