The Third chapter was a study in how hard it is to unlearn something, Miyafuji, Lynnette, & even Perinne Closterman where having trouble in their training, with their stanima, and flying techniques, So Major Mio Sakamoto sent the three to the elder witch, (Which it seems that trained the Major).
At first, it was extremeily hard for them to control the "Brooms ", But with proper instruction, Focus, and some determination they all finally learned the basics of flying the old fashioned why, even if it did rub them the wrong way occasionally.
But the Test came when a Neruoi was flying a straight line over water, using it's destructive beams to destroy every thing in it's path, And in it's path was the bridge and the home of the elder instructor witch, Thinking not of their own safety, But for the defense of the teacher's home, and together, using something else they learned, Namely Teamwork, The three defeated the large neruoi vessel.
The teaching methods the elderly witch used reminded me of many instructors of martial arts, For instance, having them carry water on the broom taught them how to control their powers, where on the broom to sit when carrying something heavy and unweildly, and to use teamwork to overcome obstacles, and to strengthen their powers
So, in this reviewers opinion, I find episode three very satisfying, and a must see.
