Not a review, just much needed info.
First I will repeat, this is not a review. Just, after much confusion, I have discovered that this anime, although great on its own has a LOOOOONNNNG backhistory involving several games and another anime(I think). Since its too long and complex to state here, Ill just give a rundown on what happened before this show:

Humans develop cool technology and form two special teams, SRT &ATX
    Humans ...

SRW OG - Kyosuke and Excellen FTW
If you have never played a Super Robot Wars game, or if you have and for some reason or another hate the Banpresto Originals, this anime may not be for you. However, if you are a fan of super robot anime or more conventional real robot mecha, SRWOG has got you covered. You don't need to be familiar with SRW at all to enjoy the show, but the games are themselves extremely fun - check them out if ...

    This is a Sequel....
Okay, here's what some people watching this series don't seem to understand; this is a sequel. If it's hard to understand, or you're unclear of who's doing what, it's probably because you didn't watch, read, or play the original story first. If you want to know what's going on here, you can either watch the first anime, Divine Wars, or alternatively read the Record of ATX-Divine Wars ...

I have to agree with other reviewers
This is a great anime with a great ending to complete the story but there is a lot of backstories about few characters that you have to know to follow this through and understand exactly what is going on. But i think they could have made this series longer and broken down the story more and taken time to go into back stories and it could have been more interesting

No prior knowledge to the anime
I never watched or play Super Robot Wars before so it was very difficult for me to follow the anime. I did not know who side the characters were on and what their goals were. I felt they introduced many characters so fast that it was hard to keep track of. The characters are very interesting but I wish the anime would go at a slower pace and take time to introduce the characters

This is what I've been looking for!
Super ridiculous anime robot battles that sometimes make no sense or just too over powered to even be fair. It's a mech lovers dream come true. Endless action, upgrades, new mechs, combinations, and a whole lot of fan service.

  • Interesting show Sequel
Ok first off this is a sequel to a previous series....actually a couple of previous series. The original series which was another "Super Robot Wars: Something" Title featured kind of how all the robots and characters came together. What made that series neat was that they took from so many differing genres of Giant Robots....they had a Crazy Professor made one a Robotech one that was run by the ...

  • A lot of action with a great finish.
It's basically just robots fighting what more could I ask for. Sure the story is confusing with an abundance of characters, but all the fighting makes it a great show to watch. I am left wondering what happens to the rest of the show as it would seem to need a continuation.

  • Wars and Super Robots; Oh My!
The Super Robot genre has been around for a long time. Originally introduced via Tetsujin-28-go, or as some people may know as Gigantor, in the 1950s and later refined by Go Nagai's Mazinger in 1972. Mazinger Z would later go on to redefine the mecha genre by introducing a piloted machine; piloted in the same manner as one would drive a car.

Over the years, various series have been created ...

    Bad Storyline too confusing
it took forever to figure out exactly what this show was about.

    Good / Bad / Brainwasied / re-programmed.

    Just a bit too much.

    Storyline should flow.
