Abandon hope, all ye who enter here...
Seriously. It gives you hope... an interesting premise, a somewhat likable protagonist, decent supporting characters (little cliched, but not terribly so).

It does a good job building the drama and suspense. There's mystery in the villain organization, the main antagonist seems somewhat intimidating. The US military is, probably for the first time I've ever seen in an anime, NOT entirely ...

I'm honestly just sick of this type of show.
We've all seen it. These shows pop up EVERY season; nothing new, nothing original. Large amount of female characters cast, no doubt to act as eye-candy or serve as harem fodder for our Gary Sue. Every character is a typical trope that has been done to death. You can actually accurately discern each background/personality every member of the main cast will have, just by looking at the cover art. ...

    Nothing to see here.
We've seen this a thousand and one times before, it's the same characters in the same setting doing the same things, just this time with tattoos.

The generic MC is special and gets this special tattoo that is obviously very special compared to all other tattoos and gives him super powers that are for some reason legendary and rare, that everyone would drop their pants for.

    The main character ...

Too Typical and Filled with Tropes
If you're into the boiler-plate shonen action hero anime, then this show is for you. But for those who crave some form of originality that is executed well-enough, this show will be a disappointment. Episode 1 started out good enough with a quick rush of plot progression and it continued in many ways through Episode 3. However, throughout this progression, the story comes to rely more and more on ...

Climbs the mountain in 1 episode, then plummets downward
I really wanted to like this show. It had a great premise with a more unique approach to humans somehow wielding unexplained powers... but after the most recent episode (Episode 5) I just can't do it anymore. The only thing good about this show is the actions scenes. Other than that, the characters are shit (with the exception of Izzy, who might be the sole reason I continue watching), has a ...

    Even the fanservice sucks...
Started off mediocre and hella cliche, but I gave it a chance. It showed some promise at ep 3 and then proceeded to consecutively crap on itself every ep thereafter. Random "funny" (super garbage) ecchi scenes, and

SPOILER ALERT but you're not gonna care unless it's your first anime ever and you DON'T know any better

super casual interactions with the main villain. "Shocking" ...

Well animated and ably done execution of an unoriginal premise.
In terms of abstract description of Taboo Tatto brings little new to the table with its introductory episode. The beats are familiar and characters so far fit neatly into types you've seen before. The poster having a 3:1 female to male ratio suggests a harem aspect. The titular tattoos could be replaced with any number of superpower premises and lo our hero possesses an extra special (so probably ...

Taboo Tattoo: how not to make an anime
Apparently Void Maker took out the plot...

If, hypothetically, you are a writer for anime who has learned all you can from successful anime, you can watch this show to learn what not to do:

Start with an interesting (albeit cliche) premise, a fan-servicing lineup objectified females, a quintessential wish-fulfillment young male protagonist with unearned "OP" power, and decent animation. ...

    It was unsatisfying....
I watched through to episode 12 and figured it was done, but the very end indicates they may be continuing it.. I was disappointed...
I agree with most others about the series starting off okay, but then going downhill quickly... They tried having little bits of humor, but it was kinda just poked into a few odd places. They tried going for too many different emotional points and rushed the story ...

    Taboo: More of the Same
*mild spoilers up to episode 5*

I got this recommended and watch straight through episode 5 - I will not be watching anymore. I thought it would be reasonable, and I could live with the fact that the shows seems to be unable to decide on how serious it wants to be.

It starts of with the first scene, where a well choreographed fight scene turns into round bobbles running away crying for their ...
