    An unusual challenging anime
I really can’t say I like this anime, but I admire the way it delivers its story.

The overall tone is depressing, with slow pacing and enigmatic characters. Yet, when I finished this anime, I felt that I had watched a classic.

Ergo proxy is a show that has somewhat of the same feel. But is not as unrelenting as this anime.

If you are looking for a show that is not a run of the mill ...

    Seinen at its best..
There is a reason why this series recieved recognition, In 2006, from the American Anime Awards. Ironically enough, one of the prizes was "Best Dialogue in Anime" for the first episode.

The characters are well developed and compelling. This is the anime I alway refer to when people complain that it's only for kids. It sometimes moves slowly, At a mesmirizing pace that makes even the most ...

    Depressing doesn't begin to describe
I don't have many thoughts after finishing this series in one day. About all I can say is that this is probably the most depressing anime in existence. That being said it still manages to be pretty amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone. If you cry easily you might need tissues (especially towards the end).

  • Great start, unfortunate finish.
Texhnolyze has some of the most stunning art I've seen in anime, and an amazing concept to work from. Unfortunately the story is quite lackluster. It starts off strong, but later on when they start explaining the details everything falls apart. There's a ton of imagery and visual metaphor that never get reincorporated into the story. Stuff looks cool, but it has no meaning or purpose. Events just ...

  • Human. Only human, but human.
The world, and anime, was a bit different back in 2003, and Texhnolyze is a great signpost, and a really great show! Strange, quiet, brutal, and frequently disturbing, the show takes you through a world on the edge of an apocalypse that's actually more of an extinction. What is human, what will humanity be, and will humanity transform itself into something unrecognizable? These questions are the ...

  • BLEAK AND MEMORABLE!!!
Bleak is the best word to describe this anime. This is one of my favorites because the condition of humanity illustrated in it's fictional reality is a stark metaphor for our own reality. Which is sad and best described as bleak. None of Less I know that sounds like a downer but this anime is phenomenal!
