I'm inclined to see this as a story about a woman who happens to be a cop rather than a story about a female cop. As such, it stands out and works well. In fact, I think there are just a few more "action" sequences than were needed but not so much that it was damaging to the story. I'm inclined to see this as a story about a woman who happens to be a cop rather than a story about a female cop. As such, it stands out and works well. In fact, I think there are just a few more "action" sequences than were needed but not so much that it was damaging to the story. Having only reached episode 35, I can't comment on the conclusion but the characters are believable and develop well throughout the telling. I can't remember when I've seen an antagonist grow into a character for whom you actually feel simplicity and concern. Go Eun Han as "Yura" has done an excellent job of portraying a spoiled child who over time develops into a troubled and even caring character. Bae Jong-ok's portrayal of Detective Park is inspiring. She balances the character's personality traits with a skillful hand and makes the main character endearing and believable.
The series isn't without its hiccups. There are times when the story bogs down but not enough to detract from the overall feel. Beyond that, it's an engrossing tale with a mixture of drama, light comedy, and more than enough flavor to be well worth the watch.
Update: Having just finished the 52nd episode to complete series, I have only to add that the ending was very satisfying. As in real life, not everyone's problems were solved and not everyone lived happily ever after. A very well done series.
