Very interesting whimsy! This show is a very unique experience. The art style is amazing and the story is rather cute with a very whimsical feel. I really wish there were more episodes as this series is very VERY short. I'd highly recommend this for everyone. Was this review helpful: Yes / No Report as spam

If you like whimsical, this is for you!I have a weakness for traveling stories (like Kino's Journey) where the character observes wonders and oddities and everything in between. These little vignettes - too short to properly call stories - have a similar flavor. Put that in an animation without dialog, and art that looks like it's from a child's storybook, and you have a little piece of magic. It's certainly mood-centered, but if ...Read moreWas this review helpful: Yes / No Report as spam

1 out of 1 people found this review helpful:not necessarily for everyoneI got about 8.5 minutes through this, which is a bit more than halfway, and turned it off. The animation is beautiful, of course, but the plot, if you could call it that, just meanders aimlessly, starting nowhere and getting nowhere in the end, and in the middle it's just a scattering of pretty images. I need more content to my animation. This is pretty, but only entertaining if all you expect ...Read moreWas this review helpful: Yes / No Report as spam

The characters are weird I like that in an anime. The overall anime is good. Only good because the rest of the episodes are for premium members only. For people who want to watch the rest of the episodes I reccomend a different website. Was this review helpful: Yes / No Report as spam

1 out of 1 people found this review helpful:Charming and FantasticThe Diary of Tortov Roddle is charming and very stylistic. The music is almost Miyazai-esk and the renderings are well done with a slight hint of sketchy marks. Over all I think this is a brilliantly charming animation. Great fantasy ideas and music go perfectly together and I love the fact that he rides a long-legged pig.Was this review helpful: Yes / No Report as spam

During his journey, he encounters a lot of fantasized things, such as frogs, a fish, a bear, a pig, rabbits, etc. (I will not say specifically how they are related to fantasy ...Was this review helpful: Yes / No Report as spam -
1 out of 3 people found this review helpful:A traveller's adventures in a dream worldThe Diary of Tortov Roddle [或る旅人の日記] premiered in 2003 as a series of six animated webisodes produced in Macromedia Flash on the-now-defunct <shockwave.co.jp/animation> portal site. I was absolutely stunned at the quality production values as it resembled more of a traditional animation where every frame is individually drawn versus the vector-animated keyframe animation more commonly utilized in ...Read moreWas this review helpful: Yes / No Report as spam
