A heartfelt "what if" take on Haruhi
Watching this immediately after "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" full-length film, I found myself tearing up at some point on nearly every episode. While on the surface, this appears to be a paint-by-the-numbers rom-com, if you're familiar with both The Melancholy and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, you'll know that this is an alternate-universe take, basically a very heartfelt and ...

  • Cool idea but a turn off for me and slightly disappointing
All in all not bad and basically the backstory to Nagato in the movie but i think more people would've prefered a new Season of "The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumya" more.

I actually liked this spinoff better than its predecessor, mainly because I liked the main focus on romance.

You'll probably want to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya first, because there are a lot of references to it in this anime. However, this anime assumes none of the events of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya happened.

    Amazing piece of work
It may not be a sequel to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but it's just as good. Takes a different approach to the series, going for more romance, but way less adventures. Also I love how much they reference the old series a couple times.

If you watched the original series and read the LN's or ...
