    Kindaichi finally returns!
Finally, Kindaichi returns! If you are a fan of the murder-mystery/detective show genre, then this show is for you. I watched the old series back in the late 90's and if the first episode is anything to go by, the structure remains more or less the same.

For those new to this series, the show is broken up into several self-contained 'casefiles', with each episode consisting of one part of those ...

    Disappointing........
Let's make this clear first: I am a Kindaichi fan! I love Kindaichi!

But what I love about Kindaichi is the suspense, the horror, the big reveals, the unsolvable crimes - and this definitely did not deliver. In this, the motives were flimsy, the cliffhangers awkward, characters were boring - in fact, the best character of this series was probably Akechi and that's saying something. ...

Need a solid mystery? Look no further!
Sometimes I'm just in the mood for a good mystery. The kind where I don't figure it out until they reveal the tricks (or what little I do figure out is a huge victory!) Kindaichi fits that bill to a tee. Very elaborate cases and a fair amount of personal danger faces our fearless protagonists, but in the end, Kindaichi will always figure out all of the mysteries. And that's just the way I like it.

Not Detective Conan, but still a great series.
A lot of people compare Kindaichi to Conan, but though they do share a lot of similar characteristics, I don't feel like it's quite an apt comparison. Kindaichi spends more time in the show to explore the mysteries through flashbacks and getting to know the minor characters, which makes for a good atmosphere but also slows the show down considerably. I personally love Conan to death (easily one of ...

A hidden gem in the making
This is a very different type of anime. I really like the detective premise. I would have given it five stars but the character designs let it down in my opinion.

Definitely well worth a watch if you like mysteries. It really needs to be given a chance.

    Can't believe Kindaichi is back!
I can't believe they're making a new season for this. For those of you new to this series, while the illustrations are pretty lame, the plot is quite good. Although I think there is room for improvement plot-wise, it's still one of the best anime I had seen. For those who enjoyed it, I suggest watching the live action series/movies, which I think are a bit better. Does anyone know where I can ...

    Interesting, yet lacks conviction.
*The following is based on only the first episode alone.

Kindaichi, Kindaichi. What art thou? Predating even the tactics of Conan himself, what secrets lie within your grasp?

Of course, I've never seen the original, so I don't quite know.

Kindaichi Returns is based off the original manga, which has been running since 1992, and the former anime which ran from 97-2000.

    As it stands ...

And now for a little something different.
I never saw the first series but this one has been enjoyable. It's not as clever as I'd like for a mystery / who-done-it series, but it's a good time waster. If you're looking for something a little different than the run of the mill, sports, slice-of-life, giant robot anime then give this a try.

THE LONG AWAITED RETURN IS HERE!
Kindaichi returns with a new anime. This time some of the old cast is reunited. Kindaichi has always been my favorite detective and I always wanted to continue the original anime. However, I couldn't because it isn't subbed completely. Hopefully in the future it continues to be subbed. In this new anime you can feel the nostalgia of the past returning. It is an awesome thing to feel. And you can ...

    better characters better music
I love Kindaichi, I love reading Kindaichi Kousuke (the first Kindaichi/grandpa), and this show delivers. this show has a different flavor. instead of the dark room with a hanging corpse, it's more about the darkness within a man/monster.

Sure there are things that could be done better, but the emphasis is on mystery, and the trick that the killer used, so I actually like how they are better ...
