The Great Queen Seondeok is a Tour De Force!!!
Spectacular cinematography, suspenseful storyline and brilliant casting combine to present an intriguingly rich historical. All the characters were very well developed, especially Mishil and Bi Dam. Personal favorites: the irrepressible Bi Dam, Munno, Alcheon, Jilsuk, Wolya, and Chunmung. If you liked Iljimae, Return of the Condor Heroes,Yi San, you'll enjoy spending hours with GQS.

Yes, It's for REAL! Truth is Stranger than Fiction (My First Love)
Actually, rewatching this made me think loosely of Game of Thrones, except the crazy thing about it is most of these people are real! The main cast is entirely historical figures, and the outstanding power of women at the time was amazing. There really was a time when women were allowed to have several husbands, Misil got around with king after king, and the hwarang and many other figures are ...

    Fun/Good/Worth Watching 62 Episodes
A lot of the things that I didn't like about the "Drama" is typical to Korean Dramas. The camera zoom in to face of Lady Mi Shil and the Princess was done too many times. Along with the camera zoom in to the faces the audio track was annoying at times. The characters were likable for the most part. Deokman's adventures prior to taking the Throne were fun. The series slowed down a bit

    epic on its own terms.
i have watched historical period films that are chinese, thai, and japanese, but never korean. i never wanted to give the korean ones a try for some reason. i only gave this show a try after seeing Il Ji Mae, and i have to say, The Great Queen Seondeok works on its own, even if the show stumble here and there. i know nothing of korean's historical times. is queen seondeok a real person? i would ...

The Great Queen Seondeok - Entertaining!
In this historic drama, the pivoting intrigue and politics as well as "evil" portrayed by Hyon Jung Ko kept me at the edge of my seat. Once her character, Misil was killed off, this historical drama lost a lot of it's momentum and dragged on to a tragic conclusion. I cannot say more about both Hyon Jung Ko and Nam Gil Kim who portrayed Misil's son, Bi Dam. Both actors absolutely stole the show.

EPIC!!!!!! This is a must-see for historical drama lovers!
This is one of the best dramas I have ever seen! To put it to a quick summary, it is about strong characters who are trying to see what they are capable of while creating an impossible dream for themselves. The events in their lives mold them to what they will become. However, if you are looking a romantic drama to watch this is not it ... it perfectly demonstrates the meaning of devotion and ...

  • great characters and drama, but bad ending
I loved the characters in this drama! I got very invested in it and they were seriously some of my favorite drama characters. Bidam is awesome, the martial arts style of him and Munno are very cool. Misil is a villain to be taken seriously and they give her such an interesting back story.

How awesome the first 3/4 of this show are make it very dissapointing when things take a very bad turn ...

  • awesome drama had me every episode!!!
i loved this drama the last episode had me in tears literally i could not stop crying. I felt that had the truth came out the ending would not have been as strong. It was like a sad horrible romeo and juliet. Juliet never watched romeo die.
