An Anime with so much Missed Potential
I am usually a big fan of sports anime as they often instill an atmosphere of team work and hard effort that can be inspiring. Major and Kuroko's Basketball are fine examples of this. When I saw the preview of this anime, it looked as promising as those others mentioned. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The storyline had really good potential but ended up lacking the intensity and vision it ...

A good series that suffers from a weak main character.
This series follows the exploits of the Aizawa brothers. Suguru Aizawa, the older brother, is a soccer prodigy in all aspects of the word, both feared and respected by players worldwide. Kakeru Aizawa, the younger brother, was also somewhat of a prodigy who was able to fully support his older brother's abilities to allow Suguru to play his type of soccer unrestrained. Due to some events before the ...

    Not a Soccer Fan BUT!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed this sport anime . i loved the twist in story line and think that Seven's undertone like for Kakeru is cute. Cant wait to see who wins the championship in Season 2.. I sure hope they make a Season 2 if not i will be sure to keep up with the manga. Love it

    Football Anime worth watching
I went into this show thinking that it was one of those shows where the kids have super powers and there possibly being an evil rival that was out to destroy everything but instead it was much more real than I thought. All the characters had good tie-ins to each other and you could identify with most of them. If you love Football(Soccer) and Anime. I highly recommend this show!

    It was enjoyable, yet disgruntling.
    Story. (6/10)
Based on the popular soccer manga by, Kibayashi Shin and Tsukiyama Kaya; The Knight in the Area (Area no Kishi) tells the story of a young boy named, Aizawa Kakeru, whose potential is only exceeded by his self doubt. Kakeru must endure misfortune early on in the story, misfortune that only makes him stronger as a person and rekindles his love for the game. The story kicks off when ...

An anime that catches you by surprise.
When I looked at this anime I thought "Oh just another sports anime" and I can tell you I was completely wrong, I love the story and the characters and even teared up a couple times. This is definitely worth the time. On a side note this anime made me want to play soccer as well, they make that interesting and compelling even for those of us who never cared for soccer.

I start watching this anime about 1 month after its premiere; the beginning looks awesome, however, after the first episodes it become really slow and does not show any real development (main char and story). Not sure about the manga but the anime it kind of disappoint me. I was expecting something like EyeShield 21 or Captain Tsuba, but is ...

  • This anime should not be overlooked.
I hate actual sports but for some unknown reason I love this anime. I keeps me enthralled with it. The characterization is amazing and I love all of them. The plot is like any other sports anime, win the big tournament but somehow it doesn't get old. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

This definitely needs a second season. And Araki should stay thin. I like him better that way.
