Best football anime after Captain Tsubasa
I'm known to be huge Captain Tsubasa fan. In fact Captain Tsubasa is the reason why I started liking football and begun playing till I entered college. After Captain Tsubasa I've not seen any good football anime till I discovered Area no Kishi.
The story, the art, the characters all are so good. I liked how the author dedicated a chunk of anime\manga to focus on Nadeshiko Japan. I just hated how ...

    Not a Soccer Fan BUT!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed this sport anime . i loved the twist in story line and think that Seven's undertone like for Kakeru is cute. Cant wait to see who wins the championship in Season 2.. I sure hope they make a Season 2 if not i will be sure to keep up with the manga. Love it

    Football Anime worth watching
I went into this show thinking that it was one of those shows where the kids have super powers and there possibly being an evil rival that was out to destroy everything but instead it was much more real than I thought. All the characters had good tie-ins to each other and you could identify with most of them. If you love Football(Soccer) and Anime. I highly recommend this show!

    It was enjoyable, yet disgruntling.
    Story. (6/10)
Based on the popular soccer manga by, Kibayashi Shin and Tsukiyama Kaya; The Knight in the Area (Area no Kishi) tells the story of a young boy named, Aizawa Kakeru, whose potential is only exceeded by his self doubt. Kakeru must endure misfortune early on in the story, misfortune that only makes him stronger as a person and rekindles his love for the game. The story kicks off when ...

An anime that catches you by surprise.
When I looked at this anime I thought "Oh just another sports anime" and I can tell you I was completely wrong, I love the story and the characters and even teared up a couple times. This is definitely worth the time. On a side note this anime made me want to play soccer as well, they make that interesting and compelling even for those of us who never cared for soccer.

A Great Soccer Anime Thats All You Need To Know
A phenomenal soccer anime since CR took off Hungry Heart: Wild Striker. This show is one of THE best sports/soccer show. The way they animate it and draw up how the characters play soccer is just so cool. That being said: WE NEED A SECOND SEASON TO. COME ON GUYS.

A Great Anime with Intense Games
This is a great anime. It made my love for soccer--and sports--grow all the more powerful. The relationships between the characters are really strong, and how INTENSE they make the soccer games makes me actually think it's a real live game. I'm literally cheering for a non-existent team, forgetting about the Superbowl or the footballs games that are actually happening.

In only one episode, the ...

    Awesome Soccer Anime
This is a great anime series especially if you're a fan of soccer. I've learned a lot from watching these episodes. The games are set at a good pace. Why only 4 stars? I hate the music. With the challenges the characters face, music could have heightened the important moments. :< They play the same generic opening theme song whenever something happens in the character's favor - which gives away ...

It's simple, but it teases you with complexity
The interactions between the teammates make this anime what it is. A refreshingly simple look at the game of soccer. For a sports anime the plays are fairly realistic and don't go superhero power style, but remain exciting. Tactics and unique individual skills both play a part in the games as they develop and this makes a nice balance of teamwork versus the individual efforts.

    Off the field we ...

    A Very Moving Anime Series
This show blew my mind to the fact that the protagonist and his older brother got hit by a truck and experienced a near death situation and a brain dead situation. Suguru's dreams were at an end for him, but luckily, Kakeru lived on and now is vigorously learning to become a better soccer player with the help of his brothers heart. Kakeru plays soccer every night with Seven practicing how to ...
