    excellent football anime
I didn't expect to like that anime.

I m a big fan of Captain Tsubasa. I watched it during my childhood. There is still no comparison. Tsubasa is the best.

Now that's said, This anime is pretty good. I really enjoyed it. The character development is great. The art is great. The story is good. The brother's spirit, team spirit, girl jealousy is pretty well putting together.

    Unfortunately, ...

Fantastic Series, A lot of fun
I didn't think I was going to like this series. I am not a football fan and normally don't like sports anime. I was surprised to find out that I actually loved this series! The character development is great. There are sometimes that the soccer explanations are a little too detailed and of course it's not explaining soccer how it is played in real life. Regardless, I think it is this attention to ...

  • This series.. Very interesting..
Although I haven't completed the entire series yet, I must say that this anime was very touching from the start. The whole relationship with the brothers and how unfortunate events take place... Well it resembles reality for some people. I'm enjoying watching this anime and I think people who enjoy reality inside anime should really consider watching. The other good thing is that it's actually ...

Best football anime after Captain Tsubasa
I'm known to be huge Captain Tsubasa fan. In fact Captain Tsubasa is the reason why I started liking football and begun playing till I entered college. After Captain Tsubasa I've not seen any good football anime till I discovered Area no Kishi.
The story, the art, the characters all are so good. I liked how the author dedicated a chunk of anime\manga to focus on Nadeshiko Japan. I just hated how ...

    Just a Little Disgruntled
I enjoyed the anime itself, but as someone who has played soccer competitively for a while (10 years) as well as officiated national matches (8 years) I find the soccer displayed in this as annoying. It would literally take an essay to describe it all so I'll just leave it as "wrong" and "off". For an anime that says it explains soccer to those who don't understand it isn't explaining true soccer.

  • Awesome Anime (MUST SEE)
My first sport anime, never expected it to be as good as it was. Freaking awesome, but it needs more episodes. If u r like me and u want to take a break from action n adventure animes this is a good anime to checkout.

    Needs a Better Ending
This was a really good anime. I liked the brother's spirit being featured and the women's team that does get spotlighted throughout the anime. The one thing holding this anime back is the ending. The series at the end felt rushed and there were still a lot of mysteries that needed to be concluded. Would love to see a second season of this and what they could do with it.

An Anime with so much Missed Potential
I am usually a big fan of sports anime as they often instill an atmosphere of team work and hard effort that can be inspiring. Major and Kuroko's Basketball are fine examples of this. When I saw the preview of this anime, it looked as promising as those others mentioned. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The storyline had really good potential but ended up lacking the intensity and vision it ...

A good series that suffers from a weak main character.
This series follows the exploits of the Aizawa brothers. Suguru Aizawa, the older brother, is a soccer prodigy in all aspects of the word, both feared and respected by players worldwide. Kakeru Aizawa, the younger brother, was also somewhat of a prodigy who was able to fully support his older brother's abilities to allow Suguru to play his type of soccer unrestrained. Due to some events before the ...
