    Wrestling comes back to anime
It's been a long time since we have seen a really great wrestling anime on the schedule. Tiger Mask W captures the drama and the silliness that wrestling should be all about. It's only the first episode and it has a lot to prove, but I have faith it will. If you are a wrestling fan of any sort, you owe it to yourself to watch this anime. We need to show that the fans want more wrestling in anime ...

    Thank you Crunchyroll!
Thank you so much for simulcasting Tiger Mask W! The first episode was a great start and the glimpses of New Japan Pro Wrestling and OKADA (!!!) have me excited to see where this partnership will go. Even if you're not a fan of pro wrestling (what's wrong with you?!), give this one a try because I think it will have something for everyone. Loving the "King of the Wild" end song too!

    Old School New Japan
Tiger Mask W is the continuation of the Tiger Mask legacy. Since it's been over 30 years since the Tiger Mask II anime it's very nice to see the animation and story telling style stay very true to old 80s action/Shonen style.

The inclusion of current NJPW stars like Makabe, Tanahashi and Okada ( as well as very obvious parodies of WWE wrestlers) this is a Saturday Morning cartoon for wrestling ...

Old school anime & pure shounen fun
Honestly, if you are looking for a definition of sport shounen, then Tiger Mask W is a almost perfect example. The animation feels really nice, the story is really simple and plenty incredible fights & antagonist. After a few episodes you will probably ask yourself why you are watching it, then you cannot stop. Amazing. The ending, wow, that's incredible.

    Old school anime done right
In an era of anime where every show has Mary Sue protagonists and storylines catered to otakus, you get a show that rejects these tropes in favor of more traditional and adult oriented storytelling.

This show is 100% old school 80s/90s style anime.

  • Tiger Mask is strong. Tiger Mask is real, and my friend.
Tiger Mask is a timeless masterpiece of Wrestling and he exists in real life. I'm friends with Tiger Mask. He fights for justice and to protect everybody on Earth. There is a dark Tiger Mask who wears a black mask of a tiger and calls himself Tiger the Dark. He is also my friend. I'm confident that he is also real.

  • Old School, Character Driven, 100% Pure Fun
I'm at episode 13 at the time of writing this and I think I have a good enough grasp of the series to write a review: it's really, really good.

It has that old school vybe of great characters doing manly things, but somehow the backdrop of pro-wrestling makes the old school tropes that much better. The show treats pro-wrestling as 100% real and with super-high stakes causing manly tears to ...

  • Tongue and cheek, but it works
The plot is predictable. It is about as realistic as wrestling ever does get. If your looking for something that makes you marvel at existence or prone to philosophical discussions, this is not it. The characters are just generic enough to the point to make most of the plot work.

That said, the writers really need to work on the names. One of the villains is named Miss X. The writers are ...

Tiger Mask W is a lot of things.
Tiger Mask W takes place in an imaginary world where wrestling is real. The animation is questionable, the premise moronic, and everything else so corny that it makes you want to to cry. Nothing about it makes sense. Objectively, this show is terrible.

    Easily 5/5 stars.
