A Little Over 7 Minutes of Excellence
The show may only have two central characters and 7 minutes (give or take) to draw you in but it does so with little effort. The humor and characters just naturally come appealing. Aside from Rumi's narration and disapproval to Seki's antics it mostly revolves around Seki's activities at his desk.

It is actually great pacing and timing in which the comedy comes at you. It doesn't need to be ...

  • Seven minutes to brighten your day
Of all the micro anime that I have watched to date this is my favorite. Even though it is the same basic idea repeated throughout the shows the comedy had me laughing out loud many times through the series. It was perfect for when I needed a quick pick-me-up after a long day at work.

  • Elegant and Charming.
Tonari no Seki-kun excels where I least expected it too; to be a bite-sized heartwarming and caring comedy. I personally see it as a near perfect execution of refined humor with no relegation's towards what I feel are the common pitfalls of comedy today and recent years.

I hope you can indulge and spend some time with these charming characters and the intimate corner of the world that has been ...

Hilariously Adorable - a great show to watch on the go
This is one of only a few 'micro episode' anime I have seen, but they've taken the concept and run with it to make something absolutely brilliant. There's about as much of a story line as you would expect from 7 minute intervals, and each episode follow mostly the same formula, but it totally works.

Essentially, the guy does something stupid, the girl gets distracted trying to stop him (or ...

  • Creative and hilarious!
At first I thought this would be a pointless show but after seeing other reviews I decided to watch and before I knew it I had watched every episode! I really wasn't expecting this to be such a funny show, it really is great if you want to watch something lighthearted and amusing. Definitely worth watching!

It Has Its Ups And Downs
Believe me when I say this, this review is more personal than generic. Why I have to say this is because this series is based around a lot of comedic factors, and those factors tend to only work if they are geared toward the viewer. While I enjoyed most of these short episodes, there were some which I felt weren't that funny or good. Thus, I encourage people to try it and not give up on the first ...

    A Somewhat Amusing Anime.
This has to be one of the few animes that is trying to be deliberately funny and trying too hard to do so, it does have its moments but its lacking in.. true comedy. It's very original it kinda makes me think whoever came up with this idea was probably doing something very similar while he/she was in school. I'll give this a 5/10, its average but not a bad anime.

Kill your time by watching him kill his.
8 minutes per episode is the perfect length for this series. The story...is......in fact there's no story. The opening is very catchy especially the full version. I thought Rumi would be an annoying narrator but she's perfect with all her reactions. Seki-kun is also perfect being a silent character leaving Rumi to do all the explaining. Great (mini) anime!

  • An emotional roller coaster. Very imaginative.
I was enthralled after the first episode or two. the characters dont develop all that much, it is a pretty shallow laugh, but literally one of the funniest short form anime, or school day anime that Ive ever seen.
Give it a shot, 10 minutes isn't too big a commitment to see if it's your kinda show. And if it is, it's relatively fast paced and easy to binge watch or space out in between long bouts ...
