  • Cute, short, wholesome fun.
If you are looking for an anime that you don't have to worry about someone seeing over your shoulder and wondering why you are watching porn on your break then this is for you. This show delivers on the comedy and even though they must have had the budget of a Venezuelan high school play, this show managed to make me laugh out loud on a consistent basis. Fun for all ages!

  • Is it really just 7 mins an episode... must see for a good laugh.
I've seen a live action video on Facebook of this. I never knew it was an actual anime so I decided to watch it . I've never be so satisfied with a anime especially one this short. I laughed so much I felt like I was watching a show that was 30 mins. It refreshing and entertaining. I recommend you give this show a try.

    Condensed cuteness and joy
This show is based on a fairly simple premise - a girl named Yokai observes a boy sitting next to her, Seki, killing time during lessons by creating extremely elaborate, ingenious games and activities (obviously having nothing to do with lessons themselves). Her comments, reactions and sometimes participation in his shenanigans are the main component of the series.

While this main idea might ...

  • Note: This Isn't Really My Type of Show
I enjoyed this show. It was funny, and everything Seki-kun did was interesting and clever. The two main characters' actions are telling of their personalities, and they seemed like people I would want to know in real life. However, the show isn't trying to go anywhere; it is only killing time. That is fine, but I felt like, in the end, I didn't gain anything. I wasn't emotionally invested. ...

  • If Saturday Night Live had a classroom skit
The episodes are ~5 minutes each (subtracting the opening and ending music) and it is mainly just one person talking the entire time (way to stay in the budget!); however, the increasing self-imposed agony she goes through is hilarious.

There is really not much in the way of story line or character development - it is mainly a whole bunch of skits between the same two people, akin to Saturday ...

  • My favorite anime short by far!
After watching all of the episodes, this is one that I'd like to turn back time and watch for the first time all over again. I'll admit that I love gags, but I think this is the kind of show that can draw in almost any viewer. Even if you try to stay aloof, you end up being sucked into its antics in the same way Yokoi gets lured in by Seki's games. The storytelling is witty and efficient, making ...

  • Short, Funny, And sometimes meh
I should preface this review with one massive note about myself: I am not fond of shorts. But I do enjoy comedy or more so slice of life. I was recommended to watch this show so I went ahead and binged it as the entire show runs somewhere between 2.5 and 3 hours. This show may be more fun in small doses but all at once I felt some magic was lost and the show wasn't as fun as it could have ...

    Brilliant and funny!!
Just finished the last episode and i'm left wanting more! Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time only runs for roughly 7 minutes an episode but such you in every time! Its such an original idea and something everyone can relate to and therefore, something i would definitely say is worth watching and recommending to others. 5/5 100% Brilliance in my opinion.

  • Short but sweet comedy
This is one of those shows that you can relax to. I would describe the vibe being similar to Mushi-shi, but far sweeter due to the classroom setting.

It is a comedy, but not in the typical in-your-face way. Part of what makes it funny is that the events taking place are rarely acknowledged, so the way the two main characters plays off each other is only intensified.
