    Interesting, but not amazing.
Like Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace, this is a retelling of Edogawa Rampo's novels. Unlike Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace, this anime has much more interesting personalities for Edogawa Rampo's characters (cliche personalities, but more interesting than the Game of Laplace). The story line is a bit all over the place in terms of explaining what's going on, but it's not difficult to follow. ...

    Trickster is incredibly meh
This show does a poor job of introducing the plot and characters in the first episode. The pacing is erratic too. The premise is decent enough, but we' are only given glimpses of what's going on. The characters themselves are pretty one note, which makes sense for an opening episode; you want to introduce everyone and keep the viewer entertained (I should note that plenty of anime do manage to ...

Horrible writing and an unlikable main character make for a bad show
Trickster is an absolute mess. The show has a promising enough start: there is a detective agency, a mysterious bad guy, a slightly futuristic world, and an immortal boy. It gives you some Bungo Stray Dogs vibes (though only the immortal boy seems to have powers). What could go wrong?

Having watched 10 episodes, I can't tell you what the show is actually about because I don't know. Like ...

This Show is a Hot Mess
The only reason I watched this is because the character design is cute and stylish. But the characters are flat, and their motives are incomprehensible. Maybe it has some interesting ideas and interesting concepts. But all the elements seem to be thrown together with no thought to consistency of theme or direction.
It could have been a good show. But it's not.

Final Review (and the old review)
    Season 2 Review

The questions left in season 1 are mostly not explained still, which makes the story shallow. Even for those explained, they're barely connected to the other parts of the story at all (little to no character mental change, no event triggered...). There are even much fewer slice-of-life kinds of cases to solve than in season 1. The potential of the setting for the ...

Could have been interesting, but it's not worth your time.
I get the sense that this is a short piece of a much longer story, and the longer story is far more interesting. We get a pretty good setup - young detectives, futuristic setting, a character that

I have enjoy watching this show
I have been watching this show sense it first showed up on crunchyroll, every week waiting for the next episode to come out. I liked how we got to know all the characters. I want more! I can't wait to see where this show will continue to go.
This show is full of mystery and secrets.

A Fun Idea with a Flawed Execution
Note: This is a critical review, and my rating is based on my opinion of it as a literary work. In terms of a "personal" review, I would give it 4/5 stars, as it is fun and enjoyable, but leaves me frustrated with the final few episodes.

I like this anime. It's fun. It's a show that I enjoy watching. The "protag" Hanasaki is a curious character that has a demeanor similar to ...

    Enjoyable show with interesting characters
I'm not even sure what people are complaining about.

It's a pretty sweet anime. It might be "overused" to people who have watched 100,000 hours of anime in their lives. Otherwise, if you don't have incredibly unreasonable standards it's very fun to watch and much better than the traditional "hey we're in high school and some stuff's happening!" style of anime.

I felt like the story has been seen before
I have found the first episode to be interesting though I feel as though the

"I want to die but can't"
    and

"I only hurt people I love"
role has been too overused. This anime has potential I just find the story to be a little familiar.
