  • Fishing anime? Yes, it does work
    A complete 12 ep review:
I began watching this anime because I was interested in the previews for it from the animation, the characters, to the concept that the show was centered around fishing.

Storyline/Character: Basic plot in a nutshell, aliens, fishing, friendship. That's all you need to know without me spoiling to much. The show centers around the 4 main characters Yuki (the ...

Tsuritama has all the tools to entertain auidences of every age.
One of the great surprises of Spring 2012, tsuritama really delivered a fun time with a theme that is not that common in anime. This show had all the basic things to make an anime interesting: top-notch visuals, great acting crew, easy to like cast of characters, and an easy to follow (but also interesting) story. What I found more refreshing in this series were the designs and visuals: they were ...

  • I kissed a fish, and I liked it!
Having just watched the final episode, I must say this -I kissed a fish, and I liked it.
What does that have to do with this anime? Well, nothing really but the fact that this anime makes fishing interesting.

I think the best way to describe this anime is mixing Oofuri mixed with Deadliest Catch(not so sure that's fair). It's very odd concept, and I didn't think it was going to work, ...

  • Excellent! Quite a fun little story.
    *Minor spoilers*

Gorgeous was the word that kept running through my mind while watching this. The artwork is splendid, I love the overly bright colors. A very solid effort. This was just a pleasure to watch. I looked forward to it every week. Twelve episodes was just long enough, and I think they were plotted out nicely. Although, I prefer the male bonding/fishing tips/lessons learned story to ...

    well worth the watch!!
This anime is wonderful, interesting plot, wonderful characters and wonderful drawing, even the music it wonderful. I was immediately drawn in by Haru, with his child like outlook at everything was as a source of humor. But Keiko the grandmother of Yuki seemed to understand Haru very well.
This is an anime about the hardships of moving, finding friends, and building relationships. But it is ...

  • It's about fishing .. really?
Initially, I had reservations for watching this--come on, it's about fishing. Where's the action? Where's the plot?

Nope, SURPRISE! Tsuritama tells a sweet story of four boys who become friends through both learning to fish and catching aliens. Oh, and a very charming duck.
Nothing is too intensive or too sweet, but instead presented in very balanced dosages of character development & ...

    Pleasant and Fun to watch
I watched Tsuritama on a whim. The idea of a fishing alien caught my attention, but I didn't think I'd make it past the 1st episode. Happy to say I was wrong! Tsuritama is well written and has great acting. The animation is bright, pretty, and inviting. It's not a sports/fishing anime. It's about unlikely friends. I guess you could say oddballs that find each other. I tell you the truth ...

I didn't know that fishing could be so interesting!
At first when I read the summary, I thought that this would be such a stupid anime. This anime is about bunch of boys who are learning how to fish to save the world from aliens. I bet anyone would of thought that was stupid. Then I started to watch the anime and it is exactly what the summary said, but they forgot to say how amazing it was. I couldn't stop watching it! Now I feel like going to a ...

  • Bright colorful fish aliens
What caught my eye was the animation at first. I love the animation style of huge bold colors that look perfectly natural. The premise of this show is very simple: a young man is forcefully befriended by an alien obsessed with fishing. I expected it to be a slice of life sort of show with a silly twist, but I was wrong. Fishing is serious business, and it's even harder when aliens are involved. ...
