  • solid and enjoyable, would watch again
wanted to give it 4 stars , but kinda can't . not to say it was bad , but like some other reviews , nothing new here , nothing ground breaking. Just a standard anime tale given enough episodes to develop the characters solidly. Kinda reminds me of Eureka Seven , but I enjoyed E7 a lot more , maybe because like another reviewer stated , I've seen this story before and would be great for new anime ...

  • Anime Does Not Live Up To Manga
On its own, it's a decent quality anime, not the best and not the worst.

When you bring the manga into perspective the anime has much to live up to. Frankly, as most people are excited to find a new anime for their beloved manga this anime was a disappointment.

There were very few situations that lined up with the manga and I would not recommend it if you have already read the manga. The ...

  • Maybe try the Manga, probably better suited to that medium
Pretty simple here. The shows concept, art and everything is great except implementation. The show can build some real hype but it never really seemed to deliver on it for me. It was slow, but doesn't really have a lot of character development to compensate. The fights are cool but you never really get a good struggle, just flip flops from "we can't even hurt him," to "we just one shot him." You ...

  • Muddles along to an unsatisfying conslussion
The story was alright for a shounen for most of the series. Thinly veiled excuses to fight monsters and some poorly written angsty teen drama about a couple being forced to work and live together even though they hated each other. It even did a decent job showing why they eventually fall in love.

What it failed was it's landing. The ending is atrocious with deus ex machina and old ...

  • A new favorite anime
So let's get something clear first off. Like many anime adaptions, they diverge quite a bit, this is a really good anime, but very lacking compared to the manga.

With that out of the way, we can continue with the review. So, when we talk about shounen anime, this one falls into many typical stereotypes. Overall, I give the plot a 10/10, presentation 8/10, character depth 9/10, progression of ...

  • Great Anime, Amazing Art
I think the anime itself is pretty awesome, I love the main characters and the plot is quite interesting. The art is amazing as well. I feel like there could have been more of a varity in the "Kegare", since there was really only 2 types, but that's just my opinion. Overall this was a great anime, and I would recommend watching it

  • Slow start, gets better, and then it becomes a korean drama...
Like the title said. The show started off slow but with potential. As the series progresses, the characters and plot gets better. Very cool concept except its a little too familiar to other animes. And right now it's starting to become a korean drama about two teenagers. Kind of cheesy and too tacky at this point to be honest.

  • Good as a stand alone
I'm reading the manga and when I found out about the anime I thought I'd give it a shot. At first Rokuro reminded me of Naruto with him being so loud and obnoxious but he grows up and is slightly calmer. Benio was the strong exterior/fragile mind complex going which was a good refresher since she came like that straight from the beginning. It was slow at times then at the end it felt rushed for ...

  • A Wholly Generic Show, Through and Through
    *Possible Spoilers Ahead*

Twin Star Exorcists is the epitome of your generic action/adventure shounen, stuffed full with every cliché in the book. Brooding protagonist with a dark past? Check. Said protagonist wants to be the strongest [insert title]? Check. Constant flashbacks, ridiculously named magic/attacks/special moves, and yelling someone's name 50 times in an episode? Check, ...

  • Fight Monsters + Teenage Romance + ???? = Twin Star Exorcists
Twin Star Exorcists is an interesting anime, it's got great visual style with how the characters user their power, how flash backs are handled, overall the visuals are what make this show stand out greatly. I started watching this because of the neat visual style, I kept watching it because well the story is a great popcorn anime that is interesting enough to keep you watching.

    The show does a ...
