You will either like this, or you won't.
Because it's amazingly surreal. It is many other things as well; Cute, fun, and sweet - But what it is primarily is surreal. It's as if someone watched "Yellow Submarine" while high, and then decided to make a tellytubbies/Devil survivor mashup that was kid-friendly.

    This is not mahou-shoujo
I think that this series is very polarizing. For me, it harkens back to surrealist series like FLCL, though admittedly lighter in tone. It's a very bizarre trip through a visually stunning world. I like that the characters are riffs on arch-types and that the series isn't moe or fanservice-y. Honestly, if you're ready to suspend disbelief and enjoy the oddness, this show is fun to watch from ...

    Fresh art style, annoying characters
The art style is nice and fresh, but the plot is really dry and boring. Characters don't feel real and indulge in an excess of pretentious, ego-inflating dialog. If the dialog was written more realistically, and not like a jumbled mess, I may have liked this more.

    I love everything about this
Super cute artstyle, super cute characters, super cute setting, super cute storyline, super cute everything! You'll know almost as soon as you start watching if this show is for you, and if it is, you'll love it. However, if you're looking for some dark, psychological, deep anime this probably isn't for you. If you're looking for cute girls doing cute things in a cute world, click play already!

    Wonderfully Weird, Weirdly Wonderful!
So, some alien critters show up and start stealing Earth's cultural treasures, prompting three high school girls to fight back and defend their own cultural oasis, Harajuku. Oh, and they get a bit of extra help from a young (alleged) escaped alien abductee and her talking pet fried shrimp. Yes, her talking pet fried shrimp. Keeping up? Because I love this, all of it! You see, I get tired of ...

  • A fun watch, full of wonder
I enjoyed it, the characters, the action and style, and I found it to be positive but a little repetitive in its message. I like shows that tap my imagination and get me wondering and thinking about creativity, so this succeeded in that. If anything, I would like to see more shows like this, but without the aliens and more focus on how they operate their business and grow as individuals and as ...

  • Simplistic sweetness
I feel like this series is a statement about the recent changes in Harajuku. There has even been talk of Harajuku dying, as small, eccentric shops are being closed and replaced by international chains. Various artists have already made appeals for people to continue living in the colorful and creative Harajuku spirit - even if Harajuku, as we know it, ceases to exist - and now we have an anime ...

Weird, overstylized, but not without its merits
While I can't say this show is in any way amazing, it's definitely heavily underrated and misunderstood. Sadly, the authors can only blame themselves for that, as the first few episodes really aren't that appealing, while all the interesting and engaging stuff shows up around the middle of the season. Urahara's horrible scores on sites like Myanimelist are both unfair and rather understandable - ...

  • A Real Kawaii Sci-Fi show!
While the storyline has charged a bit since the days when it ran here in Crunchyroll's manga section(not sure why it never completed its run there). Its heart and sensibilities of three girls running a shop in Harajuku while fighting off alien "Scoopers" that have come to earth to steal it's culture(literally ripping stuff off and taking them away) have not. Along the way the girls discover things ...

    Created by Artists for Artists
I am not a particularly visual person, but even I can tell how great this looks. You can really tell that for every scene, every transition, every frame of animation an artist was in charge, not a writer or a manager. So yes, the story is pretty vague and you just have to go with the flow when it comes to figuring out what's going on, but everything is so visually interesting along the way that ...
