Much Better Than I Thought it Would Be
the first time i saw this anime on the main page i thought that it wasn't going to be all that good. after watching the first three episodes i was hooked on the story from then on. the story basically is that Daikichi's grandfather died and he's on his way to the funeral and the reading of the will. while approaching the door he sees a girl around 6 or 7 by a patch of his grandfather's favorite ...

Usagi Drop takes a journey into the life of raising a child.
From the first time of life events a child goes through to the handing down family tradition, Usagi Drop delivers one of the best story-lines that captures the warmth and joys of raising a child.

Daikichi Kawachi, a 31 year-old single man, takes on the task of raising 6 year-old Rin Kaga, an illegitimate child of his grandfather. Daiklichi goes through all the trials of raising a child as a ...

  • Love it! Want to see more
Caught my attention quickly now just waiting for more episodes to come out! The story lines have been good and wondering if Rin's mom will come back in the picture or just creep around the edges not being seen much. Also want to see how Diakichi's relationship blossoms and hopefully learn more about grandpa.

  • Usagi Drop is a Diamond
Usagi Drop is a reminder of why I love anime. The story is a splendid balance of Daikichi being thrust into a situation he has no experience with and the responsibilities that follow, and the growing relationship between Daikichi and his young charge Rin. All of this is expertly complimented with a comedic overtone that allows the viewer to laugh and cry during the same scene. The animation fits ...

  • Usagi Drop is a very good anime series
I am quite impressed by this anime series based on adult dilemmas on raising children in a hyper-industrialized society where work ambitions often take precedence over child care. The story line is well paced as the main character learns about child care and the struggles of being a single parent. Somehow, I get the sense that children might also see things of value in the series. The animation is ...

  • Just a wonderful story. Is it odd that it made me want to reconsider having children?
I know it sounds a little strange but it really made me think again about being a parent and what that really means. It doesn't really hide any part of parenting, and I've watched this with parents who have children. I just adore it and I can't wait until it gets out on DVD. I'm trying very very hard to get it shown at the anime convention I work at this spring.

  • It Touches Your Heart
I really loved this and hope it continues. It makes me want to read the manga. It's really just a feel good anime by the end that really shows how much a new parent goes through when raising a child. In the beginning it might sound like a weird drama, but it's actually a sweet comedy with few dramatic moments. Definitely recommend it.

What's this warm feeling in my chest?
Like some who I know, I walked into this experience with only the knowledge of Usagi Drop and not having actually read the manga. The premise of the story intrigued me, the watercolor animation before the opening sequence captivated me. I admit, I found myself watching the intro sequence nearly every time, completely entranced by the cute bunnies hopping around. From this point on, it was hard ...

Is it bad that this show makes you want children?
No doubt the warmest anime i have ever seen. This is spectacular in so many ways.
First off the facial expressions are unlike many other animations, taking realism and emotion to a new level. The realism allows for more familiar development and depth. Simple gestures are empowering and every one has meaning. This simplicity also gives way to genuine excitement when adrenaline rises on ...
