    Teekyu aired at 50% speed
If you've ever seen Teekyu, the show about a girls tennis club that looks like someone pressed fast-forward on a VCR, then Usakame looks like Teekyu at normal speed.

This show has the same random comedic style as Teekyu, but it still has a long way to go before it reaches the same level as Teekyu. (Seriously Teekyu somehow has 7 seasons and 84 episodes)

I am hopeful Usakame will turn out to ...

Not quite Teekyu, but has a charm of its own
The review saying this show is Teekyu played at 50% speed is pretty much correct: the premise, the formula and even the characters are rather similar. It follows the four girls from a rival tennis club of Usakame High School, that had a few appearences in Teekyu. Ayako Suzuki, the central character, plays the same role as Yuri, being the voice of reason in the group and actually being interested ...

usakame: at a glance of more characters needed for a title.
it's goofy, it's like teekyuu and it's a little longer than it. There is no downside if you liked the previous shows as it's more or less more of that but at a slightly slower pace. So if you didn't like pace of teekyuu but still liked teekyuu then you'll probably like this.

Over all: it's a short show, more slice of life than anything, and it really won't kill ya' to keep up.

Does its job as a spinoff/parody/tribute
I'll be assuming most of you here have either seen or heard about Teekyu, a show that bears many similarities in its humor and character interactions.

However, I feel like I should clarify just for the sake of it that this is a spin off of the rival opponents from a different school that appeared in one of the more recent episodes of Teekyu, though I don't quite remember which one.

    The ...

  • Fast-Paced, Quirky, Cute, and Clever Mini-Anime...With an Actual Plot!
I'll preface this review by saying that I've watched four or five of these "mini-anime" (episodes are 10 minutes long or less) shows completely within the last couple of days...and this is the only one that really seemed worth the watch, so I am very impressed overall.

Usakame is actually a spin-off of another anime called Teekyu that has a similar premise of...well, girls in a ...

    eh... nothing special
This is a miss for me. I generally like comedic shorts, but i didn't find this funny. The animation is cute-ish in that colored pencil way. the music is forgettable. It fails on being actually funny and just comes across as sort of cute and random. Ah well.

Not the future of anime, I hope
    Written after episode 6.
A very well done flip-book for art class. I can't read Japanese so I can't tell who is responsible for this.....................thing. 6 four minute episodes. 24 minutes gone forever.
