Chen Zhen (traditional Chinese: 陳真; pinyin: Chén Zhēn) is a fictional Chinese martial artist and hero. He is often portrayed as a student of Huo Yuanjia, and the hope of reviving the Chin Woo spirit.
Story
Chen Zhen's story has many versions, based on the various TV series and film adaptations. In most of the adaptations, foreigners, especially the Japanese, are portrayed as the ones responsible for poisoning Huo Yuanjia and causing his death. Chen Zhen undertakes the quest of bringing the perpetrators to justice and avenging his master's death. Most of the adaptations carry a strong Chinese nationalistic theme.
Famous recurring scenes
Chen Zhen goes to the Hongkou Dojo to return the plaque bearing the words "sick men of the East". He fights with several aggressive Japanese martial artists and defeats all of them single-handedly. He bellows, "We Chinese are not sick men of the East!" after winning the fight.
Chen Zhen smashes the sign bearing the words "No dogs and Chinese allowed".
Chen Zhen charges into the Dojo at the end and takes down every single Japanese combatant who dares to stand in his way. He kills the Japanese leader after an intense fight.
Chen Zhen charges with a flying kick at a line of armed soldiers before they open fire at him in the final scene.

TV series
The Legendary Fok (1981) - a 20 episodes biopic TV series about the life of Huo Yuanjia. Wong Yuen Sun played Huo Yuanjia and Bruce Leung played Chen Zhen.
The Fist (1982) [2] - a 20 episodes TV series as a follow-up to the 1981 TV series. Bruce Leung reprised his role as Chen Zhen with a new storyline. This classic RTV drama co-stars Candice Yu, Lau Wai Man, Choi King Fai and Bill Tung. In this version Chen Zhen becomes a wanted criminal after avenging the death of his teacher Huo Yuanjia. With assistance from the mayor of Shanghai, he manages to escape by faking his own death and moves to Beijing with Huo's son[3] where they led a reclusive life under new names. Chen's identity is eventually revealed when he comes into conflict later with the Japanese official Sato. His life was placed in danger but it also ignited his nationalist fervor. While Sato plans his revenge, Chen resolves to reopen Huo Yuanjia's Chin Woo school to spread the Chin Woo spirit, which was his late teacher's legacy.
Fist of Fury (1995) - 30 episodes. Donnie Yen played Chen Zhen (pronounced as "Chan Zan" in Cantonese). [4] Donnie Yen has become homonymous with this role in other countries populated by Chinese other than Hong Kong, such as Taiwan and the Mainland.
The Legendary Fok (2007) - a remake of the original 1981 TV series. Ekin Cheng played Huo Yuanjia and Jordan Chan played Chen Zhen. The fight scene in the last episode and the ending is reminiscent of Fist of Fury and the earlier adaptations.
