Obviously an anime fan. Fushigi Yugi started it for me, it's one of my all time favorites. Then Evangelion solidified it. I'm really into MariMite and Mai HiME and Otome right now. Someone finally convinced me to give Sailor Moon a chance, and I have to admit I love it. Other than that, I recently started getting into yuri, well I finally found more anime that is shojo-ai and yuri. Anything good really, give me good character development and decent twists and I'm hooked.

Couple of weird facts about me regarding my interest in anime:
1. I'm a crazy fangirl for the Shizuru and Natsuki pairing (ShizNat) in Mai HiME and Mai Otome
2. For some reason I'm drawn to purple haired characters:
a. Nuriko-Fushigi Yugi
b. Misato Katsuragi-NGE
c. Sachiko-Maria-sama ga Miteru
d. Natsuki Kuga/Kruger-Mai series
e. Chikane-Kannazuki no Miko
3. I cried like a baby numerous times during Fushigi Yugi and don't get me started on the Eva movie, it was ugly.
4. I finally saw Kimagure Orange Road this year, and it's without a doubt one of the best animes I have ever seen.
5. Currently I'm really into reading fanfic, especially because a lot of the series I've seen this year have left me with "WTF?!" endings
6. As much as I love Sailor Moon now, I couldn't get into it until the very late episodes of season 2. Then of course season 3 kicks ass..mainly due to Haruka and Michiru
7. The office I share with my wife is completely covered in anime wallscrolls.

Few Personal Facts:

-I get bored very easily unless something holds my interest
-I love reading fanfic
-I love meeting new people and talking to new people. I'm a typical social butterfly.


I'm also into video games. Halo is the greatest mulit-player game of all time. I haven't played in a while, but I finally got a X-Box 360 for Christmas!!! Score!

Then there's Zelda. You must bow down to the God known as Link. I actually plan on getting a tattoo of the triforce soon.

My Yuri/Shojo-Ai Rant:
You know what I want to see? I want to see a series where two females are together and they aren't side characters. I would like to see an anime when it's set in real life having a decent relationship, like a 100 shojo couples in anime. I'm tired of subtext sometimes. I'm tired of lesbian characters being the side characters. Their stories are normally very interesting but they are not even secondary to the primary character's plot. Great it allows us to use our imaginations, but come on, give us a break. We have excellent series like MariMite and Mai HiME, where there's massive potential, but it's squandered. And when we do have a series that is referred to as yuri, they hold hands and walk off into the sunset. Grrr.
