Most hilarious, most GAR, most bad-assed characters, most inappropriately perverted anime I have ever seen without being "vulgar" or "obscene." This anime is so awesome it almost makes me wish the world really was a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

This anime is not an action thriller. There are some very intense moments though. Every character, and there are not many of them, have been affected by some mysterious supernatural phenomena. What makes this anime stand out is the great personalities of the characters, the great dialouge, the dark forboding feel of lurking evil throughout the show, and most importantly the unique and beautiful animations sytle. I feel like I am Iooking at paintings of a famous artist throughout the entire show. Musically, the ending theme is one of my all time favorites. I really hope they continue this show for more seasons. It's brilliant.
It really blew me away. I didn't expect this to be such a pyschological thriller. This show really tugs at your emotions. The ending could have been done much better, and I think it was abrupt, but it still was a pretty good ending. By the end of third episode you'll probably be hooked. It's not a long series in any event.
The storyline isn't incredibly creative, but it is very touching at many points. The action remains at a good steady pace. The world they live in has mystery and great history. In fact, I think that history is probably the greatest thing about this show. The characters are really adorable yet still cool-looking at the same time. I don't really like the elves though. I'm not an elfist or anything, it's just that the way they were drawn and portrayed were kind of comical, and they don't have any distinguishing features that mark them as elves. They really look like overly kawaii humans. But still, it is a good RPG anime. Good moral lessons are learned. Great conflict between good and evil ensues. This show is great if you like heroism, comraderie, RPG, Fantasy, Medieval, mystical, demons, fairies, elves, magic, battles.
The anime is so boring. There are bunch of people with superpowers running around fighting each other. They all have their little posses. The storyline progresses at a snails pace, and jumps from group to and you never really can tell who these people are, what in the world is going on, or why what your are seeing is happening. You get some "clues" about what the heck is going on at the end but by then you probably won't even care. The characters are pretentious. Most of them are freaky looking in or just a plain freakshow some way. It is pretty much clear which ones have some kind of power. I pretty much would like to drop-kick every single one of them. There is action but most episodes absolutely nothing happens to advance the plot. It's just periods of random chaos and periods of random nothingness. I am pretty upset because I kept watching this show waiting for it to get good because I really though the animation was excellent, but it never did get good. Now I can never get those hours back.
The story does a good job of pit the good vs. the evil. It leaves no question who they hero, and it provides charismatic enemies and supporting characters just like a good RPG. In top of that is has good comedy IMO. It can be somewhat ridiculous at times, but I kind of like that. But it is mostly about serious plot twists. i really loved the first episode (it may be my favorite) but the story really picks up and gets more serious afterwards. Then animation is just ok, IMO. It's not bad enough to make viewing unenjoyable, but it is not going to blow you away either. If you have time wating for another show to come out, I recommend watching this while you wait if you are into RPGlike stories.

Some may love this anime. It has high points. It has lovely music, impressive animation, a futuristic setting, cool looking and interesting characters. But for me it is just not an interesting story at all. I don't really feel connected to protagonists and the pain they are supposedly suffering. This show is basically about a bunch of impoverished citizens of Japan wanting to get into the this futuristic mega-city complex. It is like one of those towers that is so big it is actually its owned-self contained city. Japan has been trying to design this for years now. Anyways, despite how bad they try to make it seem on the outside, it really seems to me that everyone gets by just fine. Instead of trying to make their own neighborhoods better, they whine about the people in the Mega complex not letting them all in fast enough for their liking. Have these people ever heard of property rights? Geez. Anyways, this anime is basically about a resistance group's fight to get into Club Med, so they don't have to deal with the bad weather, and they can live the life of kings and queens in luxury. It really is not a story I can find myself caring about.
