Foreshadow: Bono and Troy's conversation about Troy strolling around cat house because of his relationship suspicion with "Alberta gal" by Bono would foreshadow that Troy would disclose his secret of relationship as Bono keeping his eye on him.

Metaphor: “that’s all death is to me, a fastball on the outside corner”
Troy is comparing his wrestling with death as a baseball game. He compares death as a fastball and him (Troy) as a batter. Troy his a homerun from Death’s fastball which is he gained his victory

Theme:
In Troy’s house, Lyons is asking Troy’s dad for money. But, Troy refuses because he’s indebt with him. Rose, on the other hand, was persuading Troy to lend money to Lyons. Troy gave rose $76.26 and Rose gave him $10 to Lyons. It appears Troy’s relationship between Lyons are not like father and son. Therefore of Lyon’s childhood past that Troy haven’t appeared as his Father, compared just like more of “abandoning” his own son instead of living with him until he reached to his adulthood

Conflict: Man vs Society

Troy’s complaining about his work conditions are the images of discrimination in America before Martin Luther King. Jr had done his civil rights movement in 1960’s. Troy was complaining about white people got to drive garbage truck and colored only got to picking up odor of putrid, garbages. It represent man versus society because of how colored people and white people are being treated differently.
