I rented this actually, and I was a little disappointed because it was a short instead of a full movie, but it is awesome. It doesn't seem to be working, but in case it does later or someone is curious, here's my thoughts. It features near-light-speed travel, and if you've ever had problems understanding the theory of relativity, this may help. A girl is sent to fight an enemy in around a far away planet, while her friend stays on Earth. He receives messages from her as he grows older, but she has not aged. It really pulls at your heart.
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
The end implies that he will take to the skies after her, so they'd eventually catch up in age.

A great show! The plot is interesting and all the characters are pretty complex. The main relationships of the story have a lot of layers that unfold slowly as the show goes on. I watched the whole show in 3 days, and it only took that long because I had to work for two of those days. The only problem I have with this show is where they decided to end it. And the manga doesn't seem to be available outside of Japan. But maybe popularity of the show will help that?

Girl has power to save the world. Girl has four boys to protect her and some others that mill around. Girl tries to save world, doesn't always work.
It's a reverse harem with no romance plot. Just a lot of "everyone mean so much to me" and "we have to protect our important people." Nice animation, pretty men-things to look at, but in general, not a lot going on between characters. The plot's okay, but character relationships are very shallow. It wasn't bad - it was a good use of time watching it, but I'm glad I did not pay any money to see it.

I had high hopes for the show, but kind veered off in a weird direction and they kept killing off people I liked. I did not feel that the characters remained consistent with themselves or developed logically sometimes. I think that is what killed it for me because I am character driven person when it comes to stories. For a mecha, it was pretty good, but it started with such promise and it did not deliver for me. That being said, I know a number of people who adored the show, but it was not for me.

This is the best satirical anime series I've seen so far. It makes fun of every manga, anime, or drama that you have ever seen, while still having delightful characters and a intriguing plot of its own. I go on binges of this show when I'm having a slow time, because it's ridiculous you can't help but open your heart and laugh.
What seals the deal for me on this series is the characters. I love Kyoko, because she is such a strong person who always moves forward, even when things are hard. And Ren is fabulous. I found the anime to be faithful to manga, but good in its own right. It appeals to my sense of humor, and it never fails to make me happy.
