Still more to come...
Oh, and erm... I don't own any of the images. ;]

Aishiteruze Baby -- Maki Youko [10/10]
I’m gonna postpone this review for some other time. All I’m gonna say is that Yuzuyu is soo cute! If she were my cousin, I’d definitely take care of her!

Image

My two favorite characters besides Yuzu: Satsuki and Shouta. :]

Gyutto Shite Chuu -- Chiba Kozue [10/10]
Oh, this manga is absolutely adorable. Mai might seem too desperate to do lovey-dovey stuff with Yuu, but I can’t really blame her since they’ve been going out for three whole months with not much progress… and on the other hand, he is a busy student, studying to get into a top university to become a lawyer. But anyway, Mai is very cute and Yuu, although serious, is very sweet. :] Agh, I can’t really describe how much I like this! Of course, it would’ve been better if this was longer with an extended storyline, but since it’s not, I can just say that it’s simply loveable. Oh, but my favorite part is the extra. :O

Little Witch’s Diary -- Yi Huan [10/10]
Aww, ahaha. This manga was really unique and entertaining. It’s a story about Pozsi, a 16-year-old witch who took a faulty youth pill and transformed into a little girl. She has a prince for a boyfriend named Yvrin who is really dedicated to her. He doesn’t care that she’s a witch, and not a princess, and he does whatever he can to help her. Each chapter is on a fairytale with its own little twists and its amazingly humorous and beautiful characters. xD Besides Yvrin, Pozsi also has a "beautiful and kind" fairy and a "ferocious, fire-breathing" dragon as friends. I put their descriptions in quotes because even though the fairy is beautiful and kind, she is a bit selfish. Image As for Dragon... well... I don't want to give his background away too much, but he's not all that scary; quite cute, actually, no matter how ugly he thinks he is. (To dragons, human pretty is ugly and human ugly is pretty.) The ending can be considered predictable, but I didn’t even think of it until I read it! Er... am I contradicting myself? Basically, the solution to the story is very simple and when I got to it, it was an oh-duhh-how-could-I-not-know-that kind of moment. x] Usually I want manga to have endings that go into the future to see how the characters are doing, but in this one, I wanted more of a prequel thing... Like, how did Pozsi and Yvrin meet? How did a witch and a prince fall in love with each other? But overall, this manga was really great. :]

Lovely Complex Plus -- Nakahara Aya [10/10]
This is an extra volume of the actual series Lovely Complex. The first two chapters are about the two main characters’ lives before they met each other (though they do appear in the same places at times and just don’t see/know each other) and the third chapter is about their very first meeting and a little bit of what happens afterward. I find Otani’s clueless yet cool, defensive, slightly arrogant at times, and loyal personality and Risa’s loud, enthusiastic, persevering, and fighting spirit absolutely loveable. Another plus side is that the main girl is not a damsel in distress. Image These two are always fighting, which is very funny, but their romantic scenes are just soo sweet! I just love their stories, their cupid, their first encounter, and how it all ties up in the end! I also like the original series, but I’m putting this up instead. x]

Crossroad – Mizuki Shioko [9/10]
This series was magnificent. Oh my gosh, it really was. Haha, I read the first chapter a long time ago and dropped it because of the artwork and because it just didn’t interest me then. I picked it up again and wow, I am so glad I gave it another chance. The artwork gets better, the storyline is amazing, the pace and length were good, and the characters are so cool! I loved Kajitsu being with Sensei and was pretty sad when it ended but it was okay because Kajitsu being with Natsu is just so terribly sweet. ;] All of the characters are seriously great but I’m too lazy to talk about all of them, ehe. And after I finished this series I understood why it was called Crossroad. :] The ending tied everything together and left me a fuzzy feeling. x] The only question I have is about Hayami… what happened to her?? Well, yes. That is all. Crossroad was wonderful. <3

Hanatsuki Hime -- Hibiki Wataru [9/10]
Siva is one good-looking guy, in both human and devil form. ;D Lys is also pretty but her clothing really irked me… way too revealing. :/ Aside from the beautiful artwork, the plot itself was cool. It seemed clichéd at the beginning but once everyone’s backgrounds were given, I found out that it was pretty unique and my questions were answered. Well, except for Siva not aging at all; I mean, won’t Lys be really old one day and die and Siva will still be the same age? Anyways, I knew that Lys and Siva would end up together but I kept wondering how, considering she was a human and he was a devil. The solution was not expected and I liked it. :] I just wished it went on a little bit longer… just one more chapter to see how they lived their lives, finally being together. Some ideas were realistic, like life goes on after another’s death and love can be learned by anyone. I wasn’t totally fond of Lys because of her clothes, her goody-goody personality, and her inability to defend herself. Yeah, I know… her opponents were devils, but Siva shouldn’t have spoiled her so much! He should have at least taught her a few self-defense moves. x_x Eh, at least she took care of the money and food.. better than nothing. Siva’s love for her was just awesome, though. <3

Love Luck -- Asahina Yuuya [9/10]
This is an interesting manga. The concept confused me a little at first, but then I figured it out. Image I like both of the guys! One is kind and cheerful and the other is very rude, but still hard to resist, haha! His offensive… er, finger gesticulation and words bothered me at the beginning, but it lessened after that, so it was all good. This manga was short, so it could’ve developed more, but still very cute!

Image

Saboten no Himitsu -- Haruta Nana [9/10]
Ah, this manga is just too funny! Now this main guy (Fujioka) is very dense. I mean very, VERY, which can get frustrating, especially to the main girl (Miku), but it was really funny. :] The part where he finally realizes his feelings for her and tells her so made me go “Awww!” and I really liked how it goes past the part where they finally got together and more into their relationship, but… it was way too dramatic. When I reread this, I’m stopping after Chapter 13. That’s where the fun ends and the drama kicks in. I don’t mind a little drama, but what Fujioka did was hurtful! Even though Miku forgave him, I felt a simple apology wasn’t enough. :/ AND it would’ve been awesome if the author had added an extra chapter about their future! The ending wasn’t satisfying. Okay, it feels like I’m just criticizing this manga right now, but really, the first 13 chapters are love. <3

Image

Ultra Maniac -- Yoshizumi Wataru [9/10]
This manga is awesome! Soo cute and hilarious! I just love the two main characters and their friendship for each other and their relationships with the other guys! Nina’s antics are so fun! Nina’s guy, Hiroki, is really cool and Ayu’s guy, Tetsushi is cool, too, but… like in Saboten no Himitsu, he did something that I couldn’t forgive so easily. He didn’t do the same thing as Fujioka in Saboten no Himitsu, but still, he should’ve tried harder before resorting to… eh, you know. And if you haven’t read it, you’ll see… if you do actually read the manga, of course. Or just the chapter. Or a spoiler. Or ask someone to tell you. Haha, okay. Anywayyy, I also didn’t like Sayaka. I just didn’t.
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
There’s another guy, too, (Yuta) and I don't really know what to say about him except that he’s pretty cool. Not as cool as Hiroki, and I don’t know how to compare him to Tetsushi except that he doesn’t do anything unforgivable and his secret crush was cute. :] Oh, and I really liked the bonus chapter where it goes into the future! Hehehe. The art was really nice and I liked seeing the girls’ change of hairstyles! My favorite character would have to be Rio/Leo, Nina’s kitty. He’s adorable, both in cat-form and in human form! xD

Image

Beast Master -- Motomi Kyousuke [8/10]
Leo, Leo, Leo! I absolutely adore him! He is so cute that I just want to hug him! And when he turns into his beast-like character, he may look scary, but… kinda cool, too… hm… Haha, well, this manga is really fun. That’s all I can say. Oh, and Leo, Leo, Leo! xD

Image

Boku wa Kisu de Uso wo Tsuku -- Toma Rei [8/10]
Pretty predictable... I really liked the idea of the protagonist being woken up by a kiss and seeing that there were four guys who could’ve been the one who did it, but I immediately knew who it was once all of them were introduced. And two of them seemed like side characters! Man, and I was really hoping for a good mystery where I could try to figure out who the culprit was. Even so, the last two chapters were pretty interesting since it was in the guy’s perspective and even though I rolled my eyes a couple of times at the protagonist, through his eyes, I thought she was pretty cute, too. x]
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
And the ending was nice, too – go circular endings! xD

Image

Kitchen Princess-- Kobayashi Miyuki and Andou Natsumi [8/10]
Okay, seriously, this is a very decent manga. I’ve been putting it on hold for quite a while because of the “meh” artwork and clichéd storyline where the girl with a tragic past goes out to find her childhood prince and helps makes everyone’s lives around her better… but it really changed as I continued reading. I thought the characters were pretty obvious (which they kinda were), but there were many twists when I got near the middle of the manga. There were a few unexpected events that happened, too!
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
I actually liked Najika (protagonist). Sure, she was hackneyed by being a very nice girl who’s always cheerful and captures the hearts of all of the main guys around her and changes the evil attitude of the tsundere best friend and of the main antagonist, haha. However, there was something about her that made me grow fond of her. Oh, oh! And I liked how there was a possible romance between the two side characters instead of having them become a couple right away. I thought those two would end up together because in almost every story, everyone ends up with someone, but in Kitchen Princess, it just hinted a spark between them. :] Anyway, yes. This manga was pretty good. The characters are great, the twists are great, the ending where everything ties together and makes me go, “Ohh, I get it now… Nice,” and the recipes of every delicious-sounding and yummy-looking food shown are even greater! I seriously wanna go buy the ingredients and make them! Oh yeah, also, the length was good and the ending was satisfying. :]

Image

Koi, Hirari -- Mitsuki Miko [8/10]
Hm… this was okay. The beginning was weird, though. Kazuki’s character was kinda confusing… he was a mixture of congeniality, audacity, and lecherousness. And I thought they fell in love too quickly. :/ However, I did like how they met each other… Kazuki sleeping in the snow and Sumire thinking that he was dead. Image Eh… I don’t know what else to say about this manga. The artwork was decent, the storyline was alright, the characters were cool, and overall, it could've been better, but it was worth the read. :]

Image

Koko Ni Iru Yo! -- Tooyama Ema [8/10]
Pretty sweet. Sumino is a lonely girl who just wants to be accepted and find her place. I get pretty ticked off at weak girls who just don’t stand up and do something about their problems, but Sumino really did try. And she had awesome friends who supported her all the way. :] Hinata is a cool guy, nice and friendly. He’s humble and truly cares about his loved ones. I prefer Teru’s character, though. Image Playfully boyish and a bit arrogant. xD But like Hinata, he cares about his friends a whole bunch. And then there’s Megapig! That person is awesome… I want an online partner like that. >.< Now for some cons… I wish that the school wasn’t the only setting, like hanging out at someone’s house or going out for some fun would be cool. Also, the way Sumino dealt with the Ayu problem made me so mad! Well, Ayu made me mad and I felt like punching her, haha… though I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t want to give her the satisfaction… and okay, I’m a wuss. Image Anyway, instead of screaming bloody murder and tackling the doodle head, Sumino
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
What was up with that…? Well it is her personality, I guess, and she does understand why Ayu was being such a jerk. Plus, it did end the conflict... Sigh. Oh well. Still a cute series and the one shot made it satisfying. :]

Ludwig Revolution – Yuki Kaori [8/10]
Woow. I am not a fan of horror but this is actually very mild. I just love how the fairy tales were all twisted and how the hero’s personality was all sardonic and indifferent. I don’t really like how the story started off with Snow White… she is the worst one in the manga; soo creepy and cruel. D: But after you finish the first chapter, the only creepy one left was really The Goose Girl. That one made my jaw drop. Hm… the Hansel and Gretel chapter was dark as well, but their characters developed well. :] Cinderella was so weird, haha! Who knew her stepsisters weren’t really evil? Image Little Red Riding Hood aka Lisette would probably be my favorite heroine (aside from Dorothea) but her chapter was sad. :[ Speaking of Dorothea, I like how she was the universal witch—or simply the magical being—in all of the fairy tales. Her mystery and how it was solved was a pleasant surprise. Well I could go into detail about all of the fairy tales, but I don’t feel like it right now. Go and read it for yourself! Oh, but maybe I should talk about the ending a little… it was a happy one but it didn’t really seem like a real ending. Oh well. It was still a good read. :]

Image

Otokomae Beads Club -- Motomi Kyousuke [8/10]
Hehe, this manga is weird, in a good way! Well, the characters are odd—in a good way! I really liked how the main girl is not feminine (I don’t want to say "manly," even though that word appears many times in the manga) and I really liked the scenes where she (Ibuki) and the main guy (Takumi) are together in the you’ve-just-made-a-huge-mistake-in-messing-with-us faces and poses. Image I didn’t like the extra chapter, though. Ibuki becomes too damsel-in-distress-y for me (even for being ill and scared of ghosts) and this time, the main girl does something unforgivable!
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
Also, the part where they got together was a bit cheesy… Hehe, but it was a pretty good manga.

Ouji Romantica -- Shiiba Nana [8/10]
So. Cute. More examples of simply sweet short stories… :] Okay, I’m not gonna mark anything in this review as a spoiler since the stories were all short and I can’t really say anything about them besides being “sweet” or “cute” without spoiling something. So be warned: there are spoilers up again. Okay, let’s see here… The first story was a great start. I liked how the guy really liked the girl and just pretended to be someone who has a lot of experience with girls and when she made a move on him and he got totally flustered, that made it even better. xD The second story would probably be my favorite. Pretty typical how the seemingly perfect couple are together just for their pride and reputation and so that they wouldn’t be bothered with constant confessions, but it was later revealed that the guy actually liked the girl and pretended that he didn’t so that she wouldn’t think that he just wanted to date her because she was a “princess.” Basically, he liked her for her true nature but was just being stubborn, acting as if he wasn’t interested. He even studied really hard just so that he could keep up with her image. <3 The third story… now that one was the only one that I didn’t really like. It started out well, but the middle… and ending… eh… The storyline was too short and there wasn’t enough development to make me believe that they actually fell for each other. The main idea of the story was pretty unique, though. The fourth story was nice, too. :] She would always faint whenever he touched her and when she was cured, she still pretended to faint without realizing it at first so that they could still be together (since they were together so that he would cure her phobia) and that was pretty realistic. Yes… very cute stories and the artwork was nice too. Well, except for the guys’ eyelashes… in real life that might be attractive, but their lashes in the manga were too noticeable… But oh well, the stories themselves and the rest of the artwork made up for it. :]

Image

You’re My Girlfriend -- Minami Maki [8/10]
Okay, the main girl (Hatsune) was definitely not a coward, but her personality was exasperating! I just can’t believe that she bursts out in that rude manner of hers so many times, even when she plans to not do it and doesn’t want to do it! Well, at least I know that if she hadn’t acted that way, she would not have met the main guy, Kirie. (Hehe, I like his name.) I did not like Kaori at first, but in the end, I couldn’t help but like her since her reasons were the same as Hatsune’s and she really is a good person… she’s just bad at expressing her feelings. :] Like all the rest, this manga is cute and funny. x]
