he world of RF Online is one filled with conflict. Central to the war for control of the planet of the Halostone is the struggle for supremacy between the three races that make up the armies battling it out on Novus.

The steel-clad Accretians present themselves as the Avatars of War themselves, their cyborg bodies made specifically for battle. Forced by a congenital defect in their DNA to sacrifice their human bodies for steel, the Accretians evolved a supremacist philosophy that emphasizes the ascendancy of this new form, embodied in the Race's war cry of, �Flesh is Weak.�

Masters of technology, the Accretians are in possession of the most devastating portable weapon in the whole sector: the Launcher, and its Siege Kit. When in Siege Mode, few can withstand the sheer destructive power of an Accretian Launcher.

These modern-day Spartans battle the other two Races so that their Empire will grow, and to prepare for the return of an evil that nearly destroyed Mankind.

On the other side are the Cora, the masters of a mysterious energy called Force. Believers of DECEM, a so-called �God of Numbers�, the Cora persecute the war with religious fervor, seeing the conflict as the crucible in which the faithful of DECEM act out his will.

The Cora are known for two things: their proficiency with Force spells, particularly of the �Dark� spells, and mastery of the strange beings called Anima, powerful creatures that can provide healing, defense or offensive fire support to its Summoner.

The theocracy that is the Holy Alliance of Cora believes that all must be brought one under DECEM; anyone who stands in their way must be destroyed. �Purge the Infidel�, a Corite would shout at the beginning of every battle, where they bring spellfire and the wrath of their god to bear on their enemies.

Then, there are the Bellato. This freedom-loving, adventure-seeking Race once fought as mercenaries in the countless wars between the Accretia and the Cora before they themselves managed to gather power, by combining science and Force, and challenge the might of the other two.

The Bellato anchor their military might on two things: their mastery of the �Holy� aspect of the Force � which allows for amazing feats of healing, defense and evasion � and the Massive Armor Units, or MAUs. Inspired by the power of the Accretian bodies but unwilling to sacrifice their humanity, Bellato scientists and engineers created the MAU to be the sharpened edge of the Bellato fighting machine.

The Bellato Federation is the lone democracy beside the authoritarian Accretia and the theocratic Cora. And this passion for freedom, exemplified by the Bellato battlecry, �Glory to Freedom� has brought the Race many victories.
