This is an interesting series to say the least. It is a very romantic anime that picks up right where
Clannad left off. I highly recommend watching
Clannad before viewing this or else you run the risk of becoming very very confused. It is also worth mentioning that this anime is
much better than
Clannad. I liked how the story progressed for the most part and I found myself laughing many times while watching. What's more, I almost cried a couple times during the anime. ME! CRY!! Even though I knew none of it was real, my eyes began to water. No other anime (or show... or anything for that matter) has even come close to that. So I can say that I was shocked by this phenomenon and pleased with the anime. There are three problems I have with it though. First, the creators of the anime do not make use of all their characters. Honestly, the series only focuses on three characters...

and two of them die! Most of the main characters of Clannad are barely even seen in the latter portion of the anime.
Second, there are a few "supernatural" elements that are, quite frankly, unnecessary and confusing.

(I am, of course, referring to the balls of light and the scenes involving Ushio and the small robot made out of junk)
Lastly, I was very angry with how the series tried to end.

They essentially throw out five of the last episodes by making it seem like a dream. I didn't dream those episodes, they were real! It just felt like a real screw to the audience, but I suppose that's to be expected by an anime based off of a visual novel.
Even so, I still found much to love about
Clannad After Story... and I'm sure you can too!
