Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. How I keep getting buddy requests now that I'm inactive in the forums I'll never know, but if you want to buddy me please give me a PM letting me know why. I reject most everything on sight unless I already recognize the username.
I also don't give a damn about 99% of the groups I'm invited to, and rarely have the time to participate in it even if I do. Unless I've spent time talking to you or I know you from ye olde CR days, don't invite me.
I'm learning Mandarin! 你好！我美国人。 我认识你很高兴！ I always enjoy an opportunity to practice what little I know despite my absence fromt the 中文 group.
I have a passion for old movies, drinking, traveling... and oddly enough that "anime" thing I keep hearing about.
I watch a big variety of anime, anything from the newsest series airing this season in japan to old forgotten gems. I've been an avid anime fan since about 2000 when I saw GITS, but my first anime was Voltron back in the mid 1980s.
