This anime is, without the slightest hint of doubt, the best anime I have ever seen.

Break it down:

Storyline

The storyline is, to put it simply, bloody amazing. I have never in my entire life been through more of an intense anime-induced roller coaster of emotions than when I watched this show. The kind of anime where you really don't know who is going to die next, or whether or not the main characters plans are going to succeed or fail. Every single time I ever called what was going to happen in this show, it promptly proceeded to punch me in the face and move in a direction I didn't even know existed.

The last 5 minutes of the last episode of the series made the entire show worth watching. I was speechless after first viewing the ending, and felt as emotionally raw as I did after my first break up. The cathartic release is indescribable.

Music

Music isn't as prevalent in this series than in others I've seen in the past, as there is a lot of dialogue and robot fighting sounds. But when the moment was right, the music really added to the moment.

Characters

Lelouch (read: main character of the series) was a magnificently awesome bastar... character. I want to be him. The rest of the characters were decent enough, but there's no question who the star of this series is.

Animation

This is the area where this anime receives the greatest amount of criticism. The animation during the dramatic scenes bordered on ridiculous. The expressions were a thousand times exaggerated, and often the dramatic impact of the moment would be drastically weakened due to the overwhelmingly distracting animation.

However, I disagree. While the animation is ridiculous, one grows accustomed to it fairly early in the series. So when you see Lelouch's face nearly twist off his face when SPOILERS SPOILERS LOTS OF REALLY COOL SPOILERS WOULD GO HERE, the hilarious nature of the animation really only becomes apparent when examining the show post mortem.

Watch this show. Seriously, do it. If you have an appreciation for having your stomach churn and your heart ripped out every 5-10 minutes, this anime is everything you've ever wanted. And more.

Break it down:

Storyline

The one complaint the majority of those who watch this show cite is the over abundance of filler episodes/arcs throughout the series. While this was (horrendously) accurate in the original Naruto series, Shippuden does a much better job keeping fillers under control, and for the most part the filler episodes are still generally plot related or they explore past events that are highly interesting (how Kakashi recieved his Sharingan, for example).

The main arc of the series is where the show excels, a whirlwind of action, excitement, suspense, and the most important of them all, QQ moments. At times the pacing is a bit slow, but the fighting is usually cool enough that you don't even really notice.

Music

I love the music in this series. It's great. Nuff said.

Characters

The characters are what make this anime truly shine. Watching the characters grow over time is highly enjoyable, and makes the audience feel really attached. Naruto has always been one of my favorite characters; I simple love how nobody ever gives Naruto any credit, yet time and time again he proves how capable he really is.

Oh and the rest of the characters are pretty cool too. I just wish Hinata didn't suck so much, she could really be an awesome character.

Animation

It's... animated. Looks a lot like other anime-ations. Nuff said.
