T.O.P. joined Big Bang in 2006 which was documented by television network MTV Korea's ten-episode documentary of the band's trials and tribulations. [2] He is the oldest in the group. The group has become popular in South Korea, with various hit singles and awards. Unlike the rest of Big Bang, T.O.P. didn't train to be a singer. His only singing part to present is at the beginning of Big Bang song, She Can’t Get Enough. Although G-Dragon composed many of Big Bang's music and lyrics, T.O.P. composed the song, "A Good Man" for their third mini album, Stand Up.
The rapper also worked with K-Pop artist Gummy on her album Comfort, being a featured artist on her single "Mianhaeyo" ("I'm Sorry"), and also on Uhm Jung Hwa's 2008 single "D.I.S.C.O.". In April 2007, he participated in a collaboration in Lexy's Super Fly with fellow Big Bang members, Tae Yang and G-Dragon. In summer 2007, T.O.P. was featured as an actor in Red Roc’s Hello music video.
