After watching any Japanese movies and shows I can get my hands on here in CR (also from my personal collections), I think I can confidently pick my favorite anime, series, movie and actors and actresses (and to any politically correct people out there, I stubbornly refuse to put actors and actresses in the same non-gender noun: “actors”-- that’s just stupid). Anyway, here it is:
Ultimate Favorite Anime:
My Neighbor Totoro,
Azumanga Daioh and
FLCL and Fruits Basket are tied for 3rd Place.
Ultimate Favorite Movies:
Kamikaze Girls,
Water Boys Movie and
Swing Girls
Ultimate Favorite Series:
Nodame Cantabile Live Action,
Satorare and
Jikou Keisatsu
Ultimate Favorite Actor:
Joe Odagiri (Satatore, Jikou Keisatsu, Azumi) for his eccentric characters.
Ultimate Favorite Actress:
Yukie Nakama (Shinobi, O Oku, Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta) very versatile actress
Juri Ueno (Nodame Cantabile, Swing Girls) for her
adorable and funny characters.
That’s it! And for anyone curious-- who am I kidding no one in their right mind would read this-- I also watch Korean shows and movies from time to time (My favorite Kmovie is My Sassy Girl and ING and shows like Goong though I hated some of its boring episodes) but I’m really obsess anything that is Japanese--especially Japanese girls and foods!! =D
