Hi everyone! My name is Cate and I'm 17 and from the USA. I am an aspiring linguist and plan to one day be a professor of French literature. I'm something of a gamer. I play a lot of RPGs, fighters, and platformers. I'm also very liberal when it comes to politics. (Hoorah for Al Gore and Barack Obama) I'm interested in intelligent conversation, making friends, and having fun. NOT flirting with guys. I'm not that kind of woman. So feel free to buddy me if you want to get to know me better. By the way if you haven't seen Millennium Actress then you better see it ASAP!
My health is very poor. I have Ulcerative Colitis and Herpes Zoster (aka Shingles). Please be kind to me.

Note: I've been getting a lot of random buddy requests. To be honest it doesn't bother me too much if you have some kind of reason. I will always ask a person why they buddied me and if it is unsatisfactory then I may delete you off my list.
ANTI LOLICON AND LOLITA FASHION
I must say I am thoroughly dusgusted by "loli" and lolita fashion. Lolita fashion is clothing that is based on little girls clothes and inspired a little by the Victorian Era. It is all interwined with the Japanese turning young girls into sex objects. It gets its name from the book Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Lolita is the daughter of Humbert's girlfriend and the object of his desire. I have been told that they "just happen to have the same name". This is asinine. What coincidence that a book about the sexualization of a young girl happens to share the same name as type of manga and fashion that does the same thing. Down with pedophilia! Men should love full grown women!

Info - I'm quite the fan of The Beatles. I recently bought a t-shirt of them and my desktop image is the album cover of Abbey Road. Plus I can't stop listening to the albums Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. As I've been researching "The Fab 4" I've learned a lot about the beautiful relationship of Lennon and McCartney. While I'm not saying either was gay (Yoko and Linda) but it seems that on some other level they were "more than friends but less than lovers". Even after a nasty feud they still connected on a heart to heart basis.
