About Me
Hey all. I really can't believe that I'm doing this, but, I've made up my mind and I'm leaving Crunchyroll. Most likely for good.
I've only been a member here since mid-2007, but up until recently, I've loved this little community of anime-fans gathered to watch anime, take in discussion and make little clubs known as "groups". It's been a lot of fun, and it saved me from utter boredom last summer when I made this totally idiotic yet fun group, for me and my friends and other silly people like us (those who were in the group -- haha, wasn't that great?). It was also nice to be able to watch anime there for free, non-stop, and watch tons of old series that are really hard to find online elsewhere these days.
But now, after these changes have been made to CR, it's become a totally different site, to me. It doesn't feel the same anymore. That's because it isn't, but yeah....Mock me and insult me for saying I'll leave just because I miss watching anime illegally through a thing known as "fan-subs", but...people. I do own anime. I just watch the anime I can't buy on DVD here in America. The really awesome things that other countries just don't buy into.
And anyways, here's a question for all you goody two-shoes who watch fan-subs secretly yet like to scold other people ON those anime-streaming sites: How can you say that us watching fan-subs of anime online is killing the anime industry, when in fact, a fair amout of the anime being watched online is the stuff released a good many years ago, and still has yet to be released in countries other than Japan? Stuff that may NEVER be released in other countries? The companies who produced those anime weren't really losing money at all, since most of the people watching those anime online are IN those other countries, and don't have the ability to purchase the anime, anyway. So what I'm saying is, it's not ALWAYS on us that the producers of anime aren't profiting enough. Not always, but yeah, I guess in most cases it could be our faults, but....yeah. Anyhow, that's my argument. That's how I feel about this. ....I don't care if my point of view on this makes me sound like a flippin' bimbo, it probably doesn't make that much sense, but meh. It's not like any of those jerks are going to be reading this. I hope not. O_o
Well, sorry Buddies, but I'm outta here. It was really nice meeting everyone, posting, making groups, being in groups, all that jazz. But I really don't want to stick around any longer. I've stayed on too long as it is.
