Eh....Starts to good, but ends bad
I'd say this anime is not that bad, but you can say it left you hanging at the end. They should have produced a few more to show what happens or at least an OVA to show the rest of the series. I don't rate very high because I got confused on most of the story. Sorry to the people that like it, but in my opinion its a good to bad series.

    Very enertaining/surprising
The show starts off at a high school, the voice acting is great along with the visuals. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a mech show that will keep surprising you to the very end. Not sure if they will be creating more episodes, but if they do I would definitely watch it and so should you!

    Don't know if parody
So I am a self professed mecha lover. This is not something to show others to bring them to the genre.

Its a show about superhuman pilots with mechs that protect a dwindling population of school age punks, who go on to form their own country. Also there are 12 episodes.

So first I will say the good stuff, there is humor, a lot of it. There are more characters with singular personality ...

An excellent anime about conquest and freedom.
Definitely one of my favorite Animes out there. It has a Code Geass feeling in how it's about rebellion, war, and claiming power but it approaches the genre in a new and refreshing way.

The Anime is definitely not for kids under 13 as it proves to contain subject matter that I was quite shocked to see. However all of it is tastefully done with superb scenes that show the emotional development ...

Could have been amazing if not for its hiccups
The art style and music are very well done, the mechs are interesting and are the best designed out of nearly every mecha I have ever seen. The problems come in to play here with the characters though. Many characters seem to have rapid mood swings and inconsistent personalities. There is virtually no explanation for many of the crucial details in the show, with one of the biggest being character ...

It's so bad that its actually amazing! Worthy of a 5 Star Propaganda Rating
Valvrave literally dares you watch to each episode. It swears its soul purpose is to successively top the "ridiculousness" of each of the episodes all the way down to the season finale.

Every single episode has its share of memorable surprises. Thats right, all 12 of them. And what's funny is that it manages to keep the hype train going regardless of how laughably ridiculous (yes, I mean that ...

Disappointing, falls short of worthy praise
For the majority of this series there is nothing but idiotic scenes that seem to be written by high schoolers. And while their are great moments of high emotional praise, the series falls short of any real consistency. I have enjoyed the few moments that were worthy, but the moment the story caved through with very little info on the valvraves and the people who developed them, eventually took ...

Good but Not Great Mecha Anime
If you enjoy anime with giant robots you should enjoy this show. The show has good voice acting, decent visuals, and an interesting universe that can draw you in. The plot and pacing is not always great, but it's still a fun show. Valvrave is not quite as good as other Mecha shows, but holds its own within the genre.

    Tries and falls far short
Mech combat is scares and when it does happen it consists largely of copy pasted scenes. Characters are hollow one dimensional annoyances that act in a truly inane & childish manner even for high schoolers. (Excluding L-elf, the only character in the anime with any kind of depth.) The show subtly makes fun of itself and how ridiculously bad it is here and there but then goes and shoots itself in ...

So bad it's mildly laughable (Ep.1-11 Review)
Valvr*ape is so over the top bad that it manages to be mildly entertaining in a disappointing sort of way through its sheer awfulness. Like a passenger train wreck that smashed into an elementary school bus with all the little bodies bloodied and strewn across the pavement. It's horrifying but you can't stop watching. Sadly for you gore fans it cuts out all that and just sticks to being bad. ...
