  • Rumble Roses meets anime. Nuff said.
Wanna be the Strongest in the world is another entry in the ecchi genre, which as see more of a rise over the past years. This series is actually pretty similar to the video game Rumble Roses, which is basically all about fanservice.

I actually discovered this series though it's promotional video which a friend on YouTube sent me. After watching the said PV, I didn't expect much out of it. But ...

Better than expected, but still mediocre at best
    Plus:

-it's a serious show about female wrestling. Not many of these around.
-it gets better towards the end.
    -nice plot twist, too.

    Minus:

-bad animation, with a lot of repeated moves and models obviously used to save money
-the main character's squeaking in pain is used way too much and grates almost instantly.
-bad pacing issues at the start.
-the ecchi aspects work against it; ...

2 Stars for fan-service, 0 stars for actual story
After suffering through the first half of this "Wanna Be the Hentai-ist in the world without actually being it" the story did pick up.

But the cheezy ending?!!! Seriously! just re-release this and put tentacles in it. At this point you can't make this worse!

How is this show getting 4 and 5 star ratings I don't even
Right, it's not like I don't get the point of this show - gratuitous fanservice using wrestling as an excuse - but that was the worst excuse for a sleeper hold I've ever seen and is an even worse finishing move in pro wrestling.

    Best wrestling anime
This anime is honestly a really great show. It starts off slow, but with progress this has became one of my favorites. With me liking wwe and other wrestling shows i see myself rooting while also calling out moves that characters do. I recommend this anime to anyone who loves or likes any kind of wrestling

Take it for what it is. Good B movie class show.
This is fan service from start to finish, that said there is a plot if you can get you head out of the gutter and accept the show what it truly is. This is a slice of life in for an idol turned wrestler in a cheesecake setting nothing more. Expecting this show to be the next great something is expecting to much from the title and the production team knew it and did not go beyond what the title ...

COME BACK!! It's watchable now! 6 episodes later...
Yes it's still ecchi, yes the way she screams is still annoying, BUT there's an actual plot now. It's not the most amazing but it can be a somewhat endearing underdog story if you give it a chance. Mind you this "chance" is 6 episodes long....

Exciting and new, but very niche
I'm actually a huge fan of lady wrestling, it's an engaging sport with- Nope, sorry, couldn't even type it with a straight face.

Anyways, wrestling was a much bigger thing in the 90's, and that's where most wrestling related anime scenes come from. The last "big" wrestling scene I can remember came from Girls Bravo, that was an entire episode.

All of a sudden, THIS pops up!? Anybody ...

    Pop stars to wrestling
This show was alright. I did like it because it did have a nice turn of events that happened. It was definitely about pantie shots and boobs, won't lie. I have no idea how the manga is played out but it did have some slow moments where it dragged longer than it should have. If you're looking for something light hearted, then this will hit the spot

    Well why not? wrestling
I am a fan of both anime, the harem/ecchi genre as well as professional wrestling which i have been following since my childhood, I loved the wrestling moves and terms being thrown around and how much more recognition this gives the 'women' in the wrestling world. sure it might just be seen as an average ecchi with excessive moaning. but i see it as a step in the right direction with how ...
