A refreshing - or highly disturbing - take on Otaku
Warning: This show may trigger extreme second hand embarrassment, and sympathy, in those who play dating sims, those who read manga, those who have difficulty communicating in "Reality" and those whose life choices made school life a torment for them. WATAMOTE reminds us of a time when our escapes from reality were our reality - and paints a scarily realistic picture of a path we ...

    This isn't everyone's cup of tea, but's it's worth a taste.
If you don't know anything about Watamote, here's a few things you should need to know: Watamote is about first year high school student named Tomoko. She loves visual novels, manga, and staying up all night on the computer; She's the typical otaku. The most important thing is that Tomoko is very introverted. Although she does her best to interact with people, thinking it will magically make her ...

If You've ever felt rejected, and a bit...Misanthropic...WATAMOTE is for You!
In the entire History of Anime, little else has come even somewhat as close to defining and guiding Us through the Life of a TRUE Otaku. As many have said, WATAMOTE may not be for Everyone. Before I first watched it Myself, I heard nothing but rather negative - and if She was a real Person, I'd try My best to keep Tomoko Kuroki...the, well...I don't know if I can say Protagonist, but at least the ...

Lament 1: Since I'm not popular...I will write a review
This comedy can be a rollercoaster ride of feels. It is a gag anime at its core and fans of anime like excel saga, azumanga daio, lucky star and nichijou will get the most out of it. Don't fall into the trap like many viewers have and expect the formula to change because you will have a bad time - that said if you enjoy the first few episodes do yourself a favor and finish it you will be glad you ...

    Total comedic genius!
I have never been this excited for a comedy series in a long time! A dark comedy at that! The humor is painfully funny and smart, and the main character Tomoko is as cute as she is horribly awkward. Who knew that Tomoko, a character made to be one of the most unappealing characters in anime history, would turn out to be one of the most adorable characters in anime history? This series also marks ...

This makes me feel good about myself.
I know it's stupid to review a show before it airs, but i absolutely love the manga. The main character is so lovably pitiful. It strikes close to home just how pitiful she is, but lets me know I'm nowhere near as bad as her.

    Warning Not For Everyone
The show follows Kuroki Tomoko as she tries to navigate her way through high school- at least what she thinks is high school. Long story short, this girl is awkward. How awkward? Extremely. So awkward that you start to feel depressed for her even when she is not. The worst part is you most likely can relate to at least some of her oddness, whether it is looking at the mirror and calling yourself ...

Painfully Funny, or "Ha! Ha! Ha! Stop that! It Hurts! Ha! Ha! Ha!..."
I don't always laugh out loud when I watch comedies, and I don't always feel so bad for the protagonist when sad things happen, but when I do, it's cause I was watching Watamote. There were so many funny moments in this series. I laughed out loud many times throughout, that's rare for me. The most you'll usually get out of me is a smirk and a goofy grin on my mug. However, Watamote pulled them ...
