    This is the best!!!!
After watching this anime, I really wished there would be a second season, just so I can see Tomoko's high school adventure to become popular! I could relate really well to Tomoko with being unpopular and a total Otaku (although the difference is I don't have too bad of a people problem...i think). This anime is just a really awesome anime and it captures some real problems of an otaku life (plus ...

  • The real life of a girl with social anxiety
I can definitely relate to parts of Tomoko (The main character) which makes this anime really interesting. On the other hand, it can also be a bit uncomfortable because of how awkward she is. I strongly empathize with her because of what she deals with which makes it a bit exhausting to watch. I would definitely recommend it, but prepare yourself before you watch.

  • A Really realistic anime, FINALLY!
This anime is basically a REAL teen's life. Kinda like expectation v.s reality. But the anime could have been longer. I really like the opening to! Umm so yeah I want more episodes... But this is good anime for someone who's lookin' for a slice-of-life- anime!

    Relevant and scathing comedy
As opposed to other slice-of-life shows that portray extraordinary people in idyllic situations, Watamote takes a truly original approach by portraying a relatable misanthrope hoping to correct herself. The situations in this show are often cringeworthy--if only because of their close parallels to one's own life experiences--and provide a kind of sympathetic comedy that, while not for all, will be ...

One of the best I have ever seen!
This has been one of the best anime that I have watched in years! This character makes you FEEL things for her and strong feelings too. Whether you pity her, understand her, are angry at her, you will feel a lot of different emotions. I would LOVE to see a series 2!

The show that keeps on cringing.
I personally couldn't sit through and entire episode of the show at a time. I had to watch each show in segments, but the show was worth it. Watamote is so good that it hurts (literally, the cringe hurts.) I've never felt more sorry for an anime character.

    It's a pretty sad show
I watched this show mainly since the cover picture caught my attention. Threw out the show it had me feeling bad for Tomoko, she easily became one of my favorite anime characters with such a sad plot. Not to mention the intro/ending theme which are both really good. Tomoko has a pretty sad story and had me wishing things for her to get better it made me feel feelings which very few anime ever did ...

  • Engaging for a while, but needs to cover more ground
This one has that cringe-inducing, trainwreck-impending quality. However, Watamote is ok because Tomoko's embarrassing stuff has a degree of normalcy, and it's fair to give her some blame at times (in another show, the character experiences worse stuff and totally doesn't deserve it... *cough* Recently, My Sister is Unusual).

The main weakness is that the plot doesn't move far. While Tomoko ...

  • quirky slice off life highschool anime
Wow, there are so many ways to describe watamote, gloomy, campy, depressing, hilariously addictive is what I will go with, the show isn't much different than a lot of the highschool anime's out there,it does have an edge thanks to the main heroin's view on her life as a first year, she is an unpopular social outcast that is going through the same things most teens go through at that age, the funny ...

Depressing and strictly for story listeners
This anime is depressing and cringing.

Negatives: The most fun you'll get out of this is very minimal. Too many awkward dialog moments and no character development. She's still the same depressing girl to the very end. Even a child feels sorry for her and the story seems to forget she made two friends at a roof top. She's desperate for friends and has very nice inside information but fails to ...
