    Loved by All, True Path
What an amazing anime. It's funny, sad, touching, and it's about a super cool girl. I watched this first and then read the manga and I loved both. Don't be like me and get too attached though, because there probably wont be a second season. Also she uses Beats by Dre headphones and that pisses me off.

The Underdog that Stays the Underdog
Watamote's main protagonist Tomoko Kuroki is easily one of the most realized characters in anime with issues that I am sure that anyone who has had social anxiety has faced in their school life. Equal parts cringe worthy and humorous, the anime makes you sympathize and at times shake your head at Tomoko's interaction in her world and thought processes. With great animation, a wonderfully quirky ...

Otaku's Be Ready to watch your life on the Extreme!
For anyone who spent their school years locked away watching anime or playing video games this anime hold TONS of sad truths! But the extremes of the situations are what make the anime funny and worth the watch. I have actually began reading the manga and from what I've read the anime sticks true to it's source! I laughed and felt bad for Tomoko all at the same time! The stories were easy to ...

The show has some charms but is it possible to watch without guilt?
At times the show is great and you finally think things will turn around. Your heart jumps at the thought. "YAY!" only for some disappointment or laugh. But the show gets downright depressing, and makes you think of your own escapades trying to rationalize A) do I laugh at Tomoko, B ) am I laughing at myself. As soon as I reached the second conclusion on many episodes I could not watch it. It ...

Oh, How I Can't Stand You!
I should have known from the start that this wasn't for me. I know that a lot of people enjoyed it so I tried to prevail and watch the entire series. Well, I did successfully complete the series, but my opinion barely changed from start to finish. I did feel sympathy especially for the main character and found the "not so blissful side of high school life" very interesting. However, nothing was ...

Slice of life with a dose of reality
Being a fan of slice of life anime series, I often find many of them to be somewhat contrary to the genre by often being set in very idyllic or fantastic settings and circumstance or with unbelievable characters. Watamote on the other hand is a refreshing take on the genre and oftentimes subverts it's viewers expectations. In this anime you have Tomoko Kuroki, an extremely shy and socially awkward ...

  • Definitely a hit or miss series.
Just reading what this anime/manga is about should give you a clear hint...
Either you love it or you hate it.
I think it has to do alot with our own experiences in school and growing up and it's definitely a major boost if you can associate yourself with the main character Tomoko.

I'm not ashamed to say that I was somewhat of an introvert in my mid teens, I still find myself ...

    Cringingly Hilarious.
This Anime can definitely be difficult to watch at times but is most certainly worth it. I absolutely love how much effort Tomoko puts into trying to be popular. One of the things I also love about this Anime is how they point out how "Typical" or "Cliche" some girls can be. Overall this Anime makes you cringe & laugh all at the same time.

  • The first anime I have ever watched.
Hilariously mean spirited dark humor with occasional feels.

Tomoko, The main character is an exetremely socially awkward twit. To the point were almost anything she says to anyone other than her family hilariously cringe worthy. The writers like to put her in all sorts of awkward situations. Sometimes they go overboard to the point where rather than laughing you just plain pity her. But they ...

A great anime that deserves a great ending!
I forget how I stumbled across this anime, but it's the second one I ever saw. If the first (Future Diary) wasn't enough to convince me of anime's supremacy over American animation, this one has. Been hooked ever since...

Watamote must get a second season! I just want to give this girl a hug :-(

    A more serious review:
Many other reviews I have seen of Watamote seem to convey a ...
